KFC Coleslaw Recipe

There is nothing better than creamy and delicious coleslaw on top of a burger, slider, taco, or sandwich. This coleslaw is a summer staple and is always my go-to for a potluck. KFC seems to have one of the best coleslaw recipes and this one can be made right at home and it tastes exactly the same! This recipe is so simple to make and comes together in a matter of minutes. You are going to love the crunchy cabbage tossed in the best creamy sauce. I can always count on this recipe to be a winner wherever it goes!

How do you make KFC Coleslaw?

  • Combine the cabbage and carrots in a large bowl. Or open the bags and dump them in a large bowl. Combine the dressing ingredients and whisk well in a small bowl or use a jar to shake them up.

How do you keep coleslaw from being watery?

A good trick for preventing your coleslaw from being watery is adding a little salt. Place your shredded cabbage into a colander over a bowl. Make sure that the cabbage is as dry as possible and pat with a paper towel. Sprinkle one teaspoon per pound of cabbage over the shreds and toss evenly.

Is Coleslaw good for your health?

Coleslaw itself is good for your body. Cabbage and carrots are good in nutritional value. The added amount of calories with a full fat mayonnaise is not however. You can always substitute the mayonnaise with greek yogurt to make it better for you.

How long does homemade coleslaw last?

It lasts for 3-5 days. To maximize its freshness, make sure to store it in an airtight container in the fridge.

    1. I have one that I am working on! Keep following along and I will let you know as soon as that is going to be released!

  1. I think the KFC coleslaw is mostly cabbage, carrot, vinegar, sugar, water or milk, buttermilk, onion juice, and then smaller amounts of egg maybe just raw whites, couple drips of lemon juice, very little salt and like it says on their web site paprika extracts? and xanthan gum to attempt to thicken and make the juice stick to the cabbage. This recipe tastes like Popeyes to me which is still good.
