Korean Ground Beef and Rice Bowls

Korean Ground Beef and Rice Bowls

This right here is my boys favorite weeknight meal. They beg me to make it every week. Since we have been so busy with Lacrosse we have been having it every week. It requires minimal ingredients and requires little effort to make.

Easy, minimal ingredients, and my kids devour it. This meal became my new BFF.

The ground beef takes only minutes to brown but you still get that delicious Korean flavor in this meal. The brown sugar, soy sauce, sesame oil, and ginger combination is the best.

It helps take the flavor to next level with the simple kitchen ingredients. The best part is that because we love Asian flavors so much I always have these ingredients on hand. All I have to do is buy a pound of ground beef each week.

You guys are going to love this meal just as much as we do! It is so delicious when served over rice and I even like to add some veggies to my bowl to make it a well rounded meal.

Sprinkle with some sesame seeds and freshly chopped green onions and you have about the easiest meal that you will ever make! You will make this again and again!

What is the best rice to use?

This was so yummy! I made it with Oriental cut carrots and opened a can of crushed pineapple on the side. My daughter thought it smelled good. Everyone gobbled it down. Said that I should make this again. It was very east and tastes yummy!

We LOVE the Korean Ground Beef and Rice Bowl!
My teenage granddaughter (whose other grandmother was
Korean) loved it as well. Will be using it frequently….so easy.
I had to sub some of the ingredients (sesame seed for oil,
garlic powder for garlic…) and it was still good. I am on the way to the
grocery store to purchase the exact ingredients .
We love it over sticky rice!

Seriously – YUM! I threw in a bunch of quick veggies & used brown rice, and it game together in like 20 mins. Sooo delish!

  4. This has become a weekly staple, it’s so easy and fast and flavorful. I replace the brown sugar with honey (we almost never have sugar in the house) but otherwise just prepare it exactly as shown. It makes a simple pound of beef splendid. Thank you for sharing.

  5. Loved it! I didn’t have any beef that lean on hand, so I used 80/20. I was so sad when I got to making the sauce and found that I didn’t have the ground ginger that I had thought I had (funny how that happens, right?), so I used some all spice instead. I also added a tad bit more sugar, 1 cup of water, and 2 tbsp of cornstarch to the sauce. Poured that over the beef and added a 1lb bag of frozen stir fry veggies (broccoli, carrots, onions, peppers, all the food stuff. Lol), and let it cook until the sauce was bubbly and the veggies heated through. Served it to a family of 6 and not one complaint. ? I’ve never had dinner on the table so fast on a weeknight with after school activities! Will be making this again for sure. Thanks for the recipe!

OMG…So Good. So quick. So easy! This dish is about to become a regular staple of my household’s diet!

    1. Yes, of course! The garlic cloves do add more flavor but the powder may leave a different texture for you. You will want to make sure it is dissolved as much as possible. Hope you enjoy your bowl! XOXO

Absolutly divine super easy and cost efficient. Everyone at my table loved it. Thx u for an easy and bomb new dinner meal. And clean up was a breeze

  8. Made this tonight & followed the recipe exactly. It turned out good and I served it over white rice. Next time I will double the sauce and I’ll add broccoli. I’m not a fan of snap peas but I think they would go well in this dish. I lovee spicy food and I didn’t think the 1 tsp of red pepper made it too spicy, I will prob add up to 2 tsp next time. Very easy and quick..basically just cooking beef and rice.

This is an amazing recipe!! My husband and 3 boys love it!! We like it with rice, but we love making tacos. So we eat it with corn tortillas, spanish brown rice and black beans. Definitely a favorite in this house. Thank you!!

    1. Yes, that is a great idea! If you love extra sauce I would highly recommend it! Enjoy your Rice Bowls! XOXO
