Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Spray an 8x8 pan with pan spray.
Make 1 box mix brownie + ingredients to make it according to the box and bake for 25 minutes. Meanwhile, make the pecan pie topping.
In a heavy-bottomed pot, combine ⅓ cup unsalted butter, ⅔ cup corn syrup, ½ cup granulated sugar, ½ cup dark brown sugar, 1 ½ teaspoon vanilla extract, 3 large eggs, and ¼ teaspoon salt.
Cook over medium heat while whisking constantly for 8-10 minutes, until thickened. Remove from the heat and stir in 2 cups toasted pecans.
Once the brownies have baked for 25 minutes, remove them from the oven and carefully spoon the pecan mixture evenly over them. Return the pan to the oven and bake for an additional 14-16 minutes, until the pecan mixture is bubbling and a deep golden brown.
