Whisk ⅓ cup strawberry preserves, ½ cup fresh orange juice, and 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice in a medium bowl and set aside.
Use a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment or a hand mixer to beat 2 cups mascarpone cheese, 1 cup powdered sugar, and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract together in a large bowl.
Going one at a time, dip 34-38 crisp ladyfinger cookies in the strawberry mixture, coating evenly on both sides. Line the bottom of a 9 x 9 x 2-inch pan with a single layer of the dipped ladyfingers. Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the top of them followed by an even layer of the 4 cups sliced fresh strawberries, reserving about half of them for the top.
Add one more layer of dipped ladyfingers on top of the strawberries, followed by the remaining half of the mascarpone mixture on top of those. Use the remaining strawberries to cover the top, arranging them as desired for presentation.
Cover tightly with plastic wrap and chill in the refrigerator overnight or for at least 8 hours before serving.
Notes
If desired, you can substitute half of the orange juice for the orange liqueur of your choice.
