Cheesy Pizza Casserole combines rich tomato sauce, garlic, melted cheese, savory ham, sausage, and pepperoni. It has all the classic pizza flavors I love in a comforting casserole that reminds me of Grandma’s kitchen. It’s a hearty, satisfying meal that’s sure to hit the spot!
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit and spray a 9x13 casserole dish with pan spray. Set aside.
Cook 1 pound farfalle pasta until al dente according to the instructions on the package.
Meanwhile, cook 1 pound mild pork sausage, 2 tablespoons garlic,1 large onion, and 1 teaspoon dried oregano in a large skillet over medium-high heat until no pink remains and the onions are translucent. Remove from the heat and set aside until needed.
Add just enough of the 2 (26-ounce) jars spaghetti sauce to the bottom of the casserole dish to thinly coat the bottom. For the first layer of the casserole, add ⅓ of the pasta, ⅓ of the spaghetti sauce, 8 ounces (about 2 cups) of the 3 (8 ounces) bags shredded mozzarella cheese, 2 tablespoons of the 6 tablespoons parmesan cheese, and the sausage mixture.
For the second layer, add ½ of the remaining pasta, ½ of the remaining sauce, 8 ounces of mozzarella, 2 tablespoons of parmesan cheese, and 1 pound cubed ham
For the third and final layer, add the remaining pasta, the remaining sauce, the remaining mozzarella, the remaining parmesan, and top with ½-1 pound pepperoni.
Bake the casserole for 40 minutes, until the sauce is bubbling around the edges and the cheese is browning. Allow the casserole to sit for 5-10 minutes before serving.
