Preheat the waffle iron. In a large bowl, whisk together the 2 cups all-purpose flour, 4 teaspoons baking powder, ¼ teaspoon salt, 2 tablespoons sugar, and 1 teaspoon cinnamon or more to taste.
In a separate bowl, whisk together 2 large eggs, 1 ½ cups buttermilk, ½ cup vegetable oil, and 1 teaspoon vanilla. Add the egg mixture to the flour mixture and combine.
Spray the waffle maker with non-stick cooking spray and add ½ cup of the batter to the center. Cook for 3-4 minutes or until the waffles are a golden brown color.
Cream Cheese Glaze
Whisk together 4 tablespoons room temperature butter, 2 ounces softened cream cheese, ¾ cup powdered sugar, and ½ teaspoon vanilla. Soften in the microwave for 20 seconds to pour easily over waffles.
