In a large bowl whisk the ½ cup melted unsalted butter, ¾ cup packed brown sugar, 1 room temperature egg, and 1 teaspoon vanilla.
Add in the 1 cup all-purpose flour, ½ teaspoon baking powder, and ¼ teaspoon salt until incorporated. Add in the ½ cup mashed banana, and 1 cup chopped walnuts and mix until combined.
Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 20-25 minutes or until it is lightly brown and a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Allow to cool.
Brown Butter Glaze:
In a medium saucepan add the ¼ cup unsalted butter. Melt over medium heat and continue to whisk until the butter turns brown. Remove from heat and whisk in ¾ cup powdered sugar. Pour over the cooled bars.
