Instructions
Add 1 clove minced garlic, ½ teaspoon ginger, ¼ cup low-sodium soy sauce, ⅛ cup water, 2-3 tablespoons brown sugar, 1 tablespoon rice wine vinegar, and 1 teaspoon sesame oil to a medium saucepan. Bring to a simmer and cook for 5 minutes.
In a small bowl whisk together 1 teaspoon cornstarch and 1 tablespoon water. Slowly whisk in the cornstarch mixture into the saucepan.
Simmer whisking constantly until sauce thickens, about 1-2 minutes.
Heat 1 tablespoon olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add 1 pound large shrimp and saute until fully cooked, for about 5 minutes.
Pour the teriyaki sauce over the shrimp and stir to coat.
Serve immediately with green onions, and sesame seeds, if desired.
