2poundsboneless skinless chicken thighs or breasts
¾cupketchup
2-3chipotle peppers in adobo sauce
2tablespoonsapple cider vinegar
2tablespoonslight brown sugar
1tablespoonworcestershire sauce
¼cuphoney
½teaspoonsalt
½teaspoongarlic powder
½teaspoonground cumin
½teaspoonblack pepper
Instructions
Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
Add ¾ cup ketchup, 2-3 chipotle peppers in adobo sauce, 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar, 2 tablespoons light brown sugar, 1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce, ¼ cup honey, ½ teaspoon salt, ½ teaspoon garlic powder, ½ teaspoon ground cumin, and ½ teaspoon black pepper to a blender or a food process and blend until smooth. Reserve a portion of the sauce to the side for the final basting of the chicken.
Season 2 pounds boneless skinless chicken thighs or breasts with salt and pepper before placing them on the heated grill. Baste the chicken generously with the sauce.
Turn the chicken over after about 2 minutes and baste again with the sauce. Continue to grill the chicken until it reaches 165 degrees Fahrenheit and is no longer pink in the center.
Baste the chicken one last time with the reserved sauce before serving.
