School is out for the summer and BBQ season is in full swing at our house. We BBQ at least four times during the week at our house because we love it so much. We love being outside and grilling is just so quick, easy and delicious! I made this Honey Chipotle BBQ Chicken with the family last week to celebrate summer. Or surviving the last few weeks of school. Both needed to be celebrated. 🙂
I recently got a Blendtec Blender and it is my new BFF. Seriously. I make a green smoothie every morning. My life is just too busy lately for breakfast and a green smoothie is perfect for on the go plus packed with nutrients. But here is the thing that I love about my blendtec. It can do SO much more than make smoothies. It can make salsa, ice cream, juice, soup, and it was perfect for making this Honey Chipotle BBQ sauce.

There is nothing better than grilled chicken slathered in delicious BBQ sauce. It is such a classic but I decided to put my own spin on it and add a little sweet with the honey and spice with chipotle. I put all of the ingredients in the blender and a delicious BBQ sauce was ready in no time!

So many awesome flavors combined in this amazing BBQ sauce. It was thick and coated the chicken perfectly. I only used two chipotle peppers so that my kids could eat it too and they loved it. The honey also added a sweet flavor to this chicken as well.
Plan to make this recipe the next time that you grill! It is sure to be a hit with the family.

    1. You could try baking it in your oven! Make the sauce, add your chicken to a greased 9×13 pan and then lather the sauce on the chicken. Bake uncovered at 375 degrees Fahrenheit for about 45 minutes or until the chicken has reached 165 degrees Fahrenheit. Let me know how it turns out!

Love the BBQ sauce. Marinated our thighs over night and saved a little to baste. Then grilled the next night and it was amazing. Great flavor! A new staple.

  2. Didn’t know that making this would be so quick and easy. Perfect for making a burrito. Thank you for the recipe!

I am from Germany, when I was a little child, my family was invited by american friends for BBQ. I tasted the first time original spareribs and chicken wings. There was a BBQ sauce on, I fell in love with.

The friends left back home to america and we never saw us again. This is 30 years ago and I tried so often to get that perfect BBQ sauce.

Now I got it. Thanx so much for that reciepe, I made it the second time now, and I love it!!!

    1. There is not a chipotle sauce, you are making the sauce to be a chipotle sauce. By blending everything in the ingredients together you are making a sauce that is likened to a chipotle sauce.

  4. This sauce is wonderful! Used 2 chipotle peppers and it was plenty spicy! We had it hot the first night and the 2nd night had it cold for a picnic dinner at a concert. Will be making this again. Thanks for a great recipe!

  5. Hey! at what point/how do you use the chipotle peppers? I don’t see anything in the instructions about them. Thanks!
