In a large pot, add 3 cups water and bring to a boil. Add 1 cup uncooked orzo pasta and cook for 8-10 minutes. Add 1 pound cut in half asparagus the last 3 minutes of cooking. Drain.
In a medium skillet over medium heat add ¼ cup butter. Next add 3 cloves minced garlic and cook for 2 minutes. Remove from heat and add 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice, and ¾ cup grated parmesan cheese. Add the orzo and asparagus and toss. salt and pepper to taste and add lemon wedges for garnish. Serve immediately.
