Ingredients Needed For Crescent Roll Breakfast Casserole Recipe
Nothing fancy here! Just a few simple breakfast items and seasonings. This is one of my favorite breakfast recipes because it doesn’t have a super long list of ingredients.
- Refrigerated Crescent Rolls: These act as the base of the casserole. There is no need to fuss with making a crust from scratch. Just unroll them and then press them into the baking dish for buttery, flaky goodness!
- Ground Pork Sausage: Cook it up until it’s no longer pink, then throw it in the casserole. You can use either breakfast or Italian sausage, depending on your flavor preference. Ground turkey sausage is another great option if you want something leaner.
- Bell Peppers: For color, crunch, and sweetness!
- Eggs: The eggs act as the binding agent, holding everything together and giving the casserole that classic breakfast texture.
- Half and Half: This makes the egg mixture creamy, making the casserole rich and satisfying. Milk also works!
- Onion Powder and Garlic Powder: To give the casserole a delicious, savory flavor.
- Kosher Salt and Black Pepper: The salt enhances the flavors, while the black pepper adds a little kick.
- Colby Jack Cheese: This cheese is a melty, cheesy layer of heaven on top of the crescent roll breakfast casserole. You can use other types of cheese if you prefer; cheddar is another great option! You could also use pepper jack cheese for some kick.

Breakfast Casserole Variations
Just like an omelet, this crescent roll breakfast casserole is super easy to make just how you like it. Here are a few suggestions to get you started:
- Use Different Meat: Cubed ham, bacon, or chicken sausage would be delicious!
- Switch Up the Cheese: I love using Monterey Jack cheese in this recipe. Mozzarella and cheddar cheese would also be great options. Use cheese that melts great!
- Add Other Veggies: To make this casserole more filling, add other vegetables. Mushrooms, spinach, onions, and diced zucchini are just a few ideas!

Hi Alyssa! Instead of crescent roll dough, I have a can of Pillsbury pizza dough aging in the fridge. Can I use that instead?
Hey Val! Yes, that should work too. ๐
Can leftovers be frozen?
Yes they can!
Can leftovers be frozen?
Yes they can!
I learned how to do this breakfast casserole about 3 years ago. I start by putting the crescent roll dough in my baking dish and then putting it in the oven to par-bake until the crescent roll dough is just starting to brown. Then I pull it out of the oven and load it up with goodies and back in the oven it goes!
