Slow Cooker Sweet Carolina Pulled Pork Sliders are crazy tender, juicy and messy, the way a slider should be! The pork slow cooks all day in an amazing spice rub and sweet vinegar and will be a huge hit!
Are you guys as excited as I am for football season? I look forward to football season every year. But let’s be honest. I have no idea what is going on in a football game. I am all about the good food that is involved in a football party!
Football season is so much better with tailgating parties and gatherings. Am I right? And you have to have amazing food while you enjoy watching your favorite team. Your tailgate party will reach a whole new level of flavor with pork on the menu. I love using pork in so many recipes that I make and these Sweet Carolina Pulled Pork Sliders were the star of the show!
I was inspired by this recipe from living in North Carolina. We loved North Carolina pulled pork and I couldn’t wait to try and make it for my family. The sweet and spicy flavor just can’t be beat!
I absolutely love cooking pork in the slow cooker. Pork that slow cooks for 12 hours is insanely tender and just falls apart when you take it out to shred. The spice rub on this pork infuses so much amazing flavor as it cooks. The brown sugar adds a bit of sweet while the spices give it the perfect balance of flavor.
The great thing about cooking your pork in a slow cooker is that it makes it easy to transport to your tailgating party. It was so nice being able to take the pork in the slow cooker over to watch the game and make the sliders as we got there. It also kept the sliders warm so that we could make more as needed.
At our house we bleed red. We cheer on the University of Utah. Luckily we moved into a neighborhood with amazing neighbors that also bleed red. It really makes a great time getting together on game day!
We planned this tailgating party all week long and could hardly wait to make all of the delicious food! Sliders are a must in my book at any gathering! They are so hearty and filling and these sliders ended up being the biggest hit at the party. I like using pretzel slider buns from Costco and made a simple creamy cabbage coleslaw to go on top.
Our table was full of so much delicious food. This is what football season is all about my friends!
I know that you guys are going to love this recipe just as much as we did. Everything about these sliders are amazing from the sweet melt in your mouth pork, to the creamy coleslaw, to the pretzel bun. These are going to wow the entire crowd at your next tailgating party!

I have an instant pot and no slow cooker. Do you have recommendations on cook timing?
Hi Colleen, thank you for your question. Depending on the size of your instant pot you might want to reduce the size of meat to 2.5 pounds. Cook on manual high pressure for 40 minutes. Once the cooking time is up, allow the pressure to release naturally for 10 minutes, then do a quick release. Let me know how it turns out!
Well this is the best!
What I did different: marinated pork butt all day in fridge with those spices, then cooked the 12 hrs overnite. Shredded after my breakfast. Served that evening & the next. Omg. Grown grandson licked his plate.
I have used this recipe many times and it is the best ever!!!! Several people (on other sites) have asked if another cut of pork can be used in place of shoulder butt. I have made it with pork loin, pork tenderloin, and even pork chops (desperate cravings call for desperate solutions!). I just set the slow cooker on high for 6-8 hours.
Can you do 6 hours on high?
If you need that long, I would recommend doubling the pulled pork then. That way it will not burn or dry out after 6 hours.
I love your recipes! This one is AMAZING.. sweet rich hearty sandwich.. i used 1 tsp of liquid smoke! Thanks for your great recipes.. i swear by them..
I have bone in..does it cook for same time or longer ??
Yes about the same time and temperature.
this has been slow-cooking all day while I was at work, home to a delicious meal that absolutely everyone loved ! Thankyou
What would be the required time to cook the pork in the oven rather than a slow cooker?
Hi There
I want to cook the pork in the oven instead of a slow cooker. How long would I cook it for?
what is your recipe for the creamy coleslaw picture
I like to use a variety. With this one I just made a quick version of a creamy cabbage with sugar, mayonnaise and cabbage. Hope that helps! Thanks for following along with me! XOXO
Have you tried making this with an Instant Pot?
I haven’t! Let me know what you think!
How can I email the pork slider recipe to myself as I am at work and don’t want to print it out?
hey girl these look so yummy!
