Are you guys as excited as I am for football season? I look forward to football season every year. But let’s be honest. I have no idea what is going on in a football game. I am all about the good food that is involved in a football party!

Football season is so much better with tailgating parties and gatherings. Am I right? And you have to have amazing food while you enjoy watching your favorite team. Your tailgate party will reach a whole new level of flavor with pork on the menu. I love using pork in so many recipes that I make and these Sweet Carolina Pulled Pork Sliders were the star of the show!

I was inspired by this recipe from living in North Carolina. We loved North Carolina pulled pork and I couldn’t wait to try and make it for my family. The sweet and spicy flavor just can’t be beat!

I absolutely love cooking pork in the slow cooker. Pork that slow cooks for 12 hours is insanely tender and just falls apart when you take it out to shred. The spice rub on this pork infuses so much amazing flavor as it cooks. The brown sugar adds a bit of sweet while the spices give it the perfect balance of flavor.

The great thing about cooking your pork in a slow cooker is that it makes it easy to transport to your tailgating party. It was so nice being able to take the pork in the slow cooker over to watch the game and make the sliders as we got there. It also kept the sliders warm so that we could make more as needed.

At our house we bleed red. We cheer on the University of Utah. Luckily we moved into a neighborhood with amazing neighbors that also bleed red. It really makes a great time getting together on game day!

We planned this tailgating party all week long and could hardly wait to make all of the delicious food! Sliders are a must in my book at any gathering! They are so hearty and filling and these sliders ended up being the biggest hit at the party. I like using pretzel slider buns from Costco and made a simple creamy cabbage coleslaw to go on top.

Our table was full of so much delicious food. This is what football season is all about my friends!

I know that you guys are going to love this recipe just as much as we did. Everything about these sliders are amazing from the sweet melt in your mouth pork, to the creamy coleslaw, to the pretzel bun. These are going to wow the entire crowd at your next tailgating party!
