A five starย salmon recipe that gets infused with a lemon, lime and orange marinade. It grills to tender and flaky perfection and has the best sweet and tangy flavor!

I have loved being an ambassador this year for The Salmon Council. I get so excited to create a delicious salmon recipe. Salmonย has been such a huge part in my healthy lifestyle. I eat salmon 4-5 times a week! Not only is it full of amazing flavor, I love all of the health benefits that it has to offer. You can enjoy a deliciousย tender and juicyย salmonย and stay looking good in that summer swim suit! ๐Ÿ™‚

This recipe today is so simple and the marinade is so easyย to make. I am going to give you some tips on how I grill the best salmon every single time. Salmon can be tricky at times to grill. But you will amaze yourself at how you can bring a restaurant quality salmon to the dinner table.

I love grilling my salmon on cedar planks. I recently discovered Fire & Flavor’s amazing products to help me grill the best salmon every time. Cedar planks add such an amazing smoky flavor to your salmon. I love to use them because salmon can be delicate on the grill and it is the perfect thing to grill your salmon on top of a plank. Here are some tips when grilling with planks:

  • Soak your cedar planks for 1-2 hours before grilling.
  • Heat the grill to medium low heat and lay the planks on the grill.
  • Lay the salmon on top of the cedar plank skin side down. Shut the grill and allow to cook for 12-15 minutes. This is my favorite part because the grill fills up with smoke and gives the salmon amazing flavor!
  • When the salmon is done, transfer to a baking sheet and gently use a spatula and remove the skin from the salmon and serve.

This triple citrus glaze is absolutely incredible. Lemon, lime, and orange fuses together to bring a sweet and tangy marinade. It is the perfect summer marinade in my opinion.

I used a sockeye salmon and I love the bright red color and flavor.

I added some slices of lemon, lime, and orange on the sides of the salmon as it grilled.

After only about 12 minutes, I had a gorgeous salmon just begging for me to eat it. The plank gives it such an amazing presentation and it grills in the marinade and keeps the flavor as it grills. The result is out of this world!

I love that I have foundย Fire & Flavor and their products to help make grilling easier. They have so many great products and I especially love their rubs. I can simply rub them onto what I am grilling and have a flavorful meal ready in no time at all. They also have flavored smoking chips and cedar grilling paper. You are sure to impress your family with all of their easy to use products.

fire and flavor rub shakers. This salmon recipe is incredible and I promise that it will be one of the best things that you grill this summer. I instantly fell in love with my first bite. It is perfect for summer and will become a family favorite!

This is the only way my husband will eat salmon. However, I use a half cup of peach necter instead of orange juice. The first time I tried this, I found it a little too orange forward with the orange marmalade and juice.

    Super delicious and thank you!

excellent. i included some grated ginger in the glaze (had some from the other day) and broiled for about 20 mins instead of grilling (too muggy out and my allergies were waging war against me). except for those two mods, i followed the directions exactly and it cooked to a golden brown. the glaze is perfect, not too sweet or salty and the citrus flavor is pronounced but not overpowering to the fish. i have some left over that i can see being used on chicken and pork. i’ll definitely grill the fish next time (labor day, perhaps? i need to remember where my cedar planks are).

typo: step 4 should read “Transfer the salmon to plates and brush with reserved *marinade* on top. Enjoy!”

We live on Lake Michigan and catch and eat a lot of salmon. Have the old standby recipes, decided to try something different. This is a winner! It will be added to the โ€œold standbysโ€!

I used the oven to bake this and it was delicious! Loved the marinade on it; did take a lot of lemons, limes and oranges to get the right amount of juices though. But at least they’re not super expensive. Will be making for guests when they come.

  5. My husband said this was the best salmon he ever had. Really delicious and easy to make. Great recipe, thank you.

    1. Oh no!! I am so sorry I am not sure why it is not printing for you! I will look into it and hopefully it will be fixed soon! XOXO

    1. I have never baked it or seared the salmon. That is a great idea! I think it would still tastes about the same if it isn’t overcooked. If you try it out, let me know how it turns out!

      1. I’m going to try to grill it if I can find a plank (any suggestions?) – also, did you cook this as one 24oz piece or 4 6oz pieces? Does it make a difference? Never grilled salmon before!

      2. BTW I did not bake, I followed your directions and it was AMAZING! I served it with grilled fennel over whole wheat egg noodles and kale. I would use this marinade for basically anything! Thanks for the recipe.

  6. I believe the #4 is off somewhat…”brush with reserved salmon.” Possibly “reserved marinade” I’m guessing.

They are right, this looks really delicious!! I will try this and hopefully soon.

  7. The shots of this salmon are incredible! You really have captured all that delicious citrus-y flavour & I love how glazed the salmon looks. Yum.

  8. Hi,
Your foreword mentions heating the grill to medium low, laying salmon on grill, then shutting grill cooking salmon for 12-15 mins.
However, the recipe says to cook salmon 12-15 mins on med-high heat for 12 to 15 mins.
