Homemade Frosty in a glass jar with a spoon and chocolate shavings.

Hey guys! Chelsea from Chelsea’s Messy Apron stopping in with a delicious dessert for you all to try! I’ve heard parts of the States are completely FROZEN right now, but it’s been crazy hot here. (I’m living in Australia right now.) We’ve even had some days well into the hundreds degrees.

That’s probably not something you want to hear if you are currently in the negatives! But it’s my explanation for an ice cream treat. 🙂 So if it’s too cold for frozen desserts, file this one away for a hot day. And if it happens to be warm where you are, you are going to want to make this ASAP! It’s super simple to make and absolutely tasty!

  1. Have you ever tried to make this lighter? Guessing light or fat free cool whip, and sugar free/fat free pudding is fine, but what about a lighter milk?

    1. you can use any recipe without a maker you just have to go stir it in the bowl that you have sitting in the freezer every 30 minutes or so. it’s annoying and the ice cream will be more of a gelato (Italian ice cream), which is still amazing but its doable.

    2. I h ave seen a recipe on facebook foir a “frosty” using a gallon of chocolate milk, cool whip and maybe sweetened condensed milk. You could probably google it. I don’t think you need an ice crfeam freezer for it.

      1. The recipe I have for this is 1 can sweetened condensed milk, 1 carton whipped cream (like cool whip), & 1/2 gal. or more chocolate milk. We always do it in an ice cream freezer. Perfect every time!

    3. I have not tried it with this recipe but for other ice cream I put it into a container in the freezer and stir it Every 15 minutes till it is frozen.
