Description
Delicious strawberry cinnamon rolls made with Lucky Leaf Pie filling and a quick and easy dough recipe! These will be in the oven in no time at all!
Ingredients
Dough Ingredients:
- 3 1/4 cups flour
- 2 tsp instant yeast
- 1/4 cup white sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup water
- 3/4 cup milk
- 1/3 cup butter softened
Filling Ingredients:
- 1 can Lucky Leaf Strawberry Pie Filling 21 ounce
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon sugar
Lemon Cream Cheese Frosting:
- 4 ounce cream cheese softened
- 3 Tablespoons butter softened
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1/4 cup half and half
- 2 teaspoons lemon juice
- 1 Tablespoon lemon zest one lemon
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
Instructions
-
To make the dough: In a small saucepan over medium low heat add the milk and butter. Stir until the butter has melted and remove from heat. Let stand until luke warm temperature.
-
In a large mixing bowl whisk together 2 1/4 cups flour, yeast, sugar, and salt. Add to the stand mixer with dough hook attached. (You can also make this by hand, just knead until smooth once all of the ingredients are added.) Add the egg and water and mix until just starting to combine. Slowly add in the milk mixture and 1 cup of flour until the dough starts to form and become smooth. Let the dough rest for 10 minutes.
-
On a lightly floured surface, roll the dough into a large 9x15 square. About 1/4-1/2 inch thick. Spread strawberry pie filling evenly on top of the dough. In a small bowl combine the cinnamon and sugar and sprinkle on top of the strawberry filling. Roll up the 15 inch side into a log and pinch the seams. Cut into 9-12 slices depending on how thick you want your cinnamon rolls. Place in a greased 9x13 inch pan and cover with a damp cloth and let rise for 30 minutes.
-
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Bake for 30 minutes or until just golden brown on the tops.
-
To make the glaze: Beat together the cream cheese, butter, and powdered sugar until smooth. Add the half and half, vanilla, lemon juice and lemon zest until combined. Frost over warm cinnamon rolls and enjoy!

How gorgeous are these! I love the bright red color!
My mouth is *watering*!!! I can just imagine the gooey strawberry filling and tart cream cheese glaze…. YUM YUM YUM! I will definitely be trying these!
HOLY MOLY! You just took cinnamon rolls to a whole new level of delish! I didn’t think they could get much better…until now. Drooling. Pinning!
What a beautiful morning dish!!!
These look to die for!!!
These look amaZing! Could we make the dough the night before? Or do you recommend to only let it stand for 10 mins?
Can we use macerated strawberries instead of the pie filling?
I’m sure that would still work out great!
I can’t wait to try these! Yours look like the perfect size, did you make 9 or 12?
These look amazing Alyssa! The only thing that could make the strawberry even better is the lemon glaze – yum!
I made these today and they turned out very good!! They were really easy to make and I will make them again using different pie fillings!
Alyssa, when I saw this recipe, my mouth was ready!! I made them this morning for my family and … Need I saw more!!! These are the best rolls I’ve ever made. They are light, not syrupy sweet , and oh so GOOD!!! A little messy to roll but , baby worth the mess!!! Already thinking about making some for friends. Do you know how many calories they are? My daughter wants to eat TWO!!!
OMG! Just tasted these. They are AMAAAAAAZING!!! Seriously. Every one should go make these strawberry cinnamon rolls now. They are THAT fabulous!
Sorry. Used my wrong account. Can you delete my previous comment so I can repost (blush). LOL.
Made these for a baby shower this morning & they were a hit!! Working on a 2nd batch for work tomorrow!!
I’m so excited to try these! Quick question: Does it matter if the flour is self-rising or not?
I used all purpose! But I also hear bread flour is great… I am going to have to experiment.
Hello! I am from Hungary and we don’t have here Lucky Leaf Strawberry Pie Filling. What can I use instead of this? How to imagine the consistancy of this? Thanks for ur help:)
I have done this with jams before. Just try to use one with small pieces of real fruit in it.
I want to make them!! Do you think they will work if I prep them and store in the freezer.. bring to room temp and bake?!?!
I am not to sure about this only because it is more of a quick bread…
I’m going to try par baking them… I looked into freezing fresh cinnamon rolls and it said to bake them so they are fully risen but not yet brown, so about halfway. Then freeze and take out to the the night before. In the morning, back another 15ish minutes until golden brown. Hoping that works ??????
These are very tasty. My family really enjoyed them. Thanks!
I have no pie filling..so I am trying this right niw with chunky strawberry jam
These were sooo yummy made them today
Looks really great! But i got one question, what is half and half?
It is in the milk section. It is half milk and half cream. 🙂
those look yumy. i want to try them.thanks
we don’t have that pie filling in the UK, can you recommend a recipient for a pie filling or an alternative please xx
Do you know a good way to make these gluten free???
Holly Cow Alyssa !!!!! you are a sexy bomb and this recipe oh my god 🙂
I used cherries instead of strawberries and it was delicious !
I made this this morning for breakfast making a few alterations useing what I had and it was amazing. I used the apple pie filling chopped up. Almond milk, and splenda. Ff cream cheese and I cnt believe its not butter ligh o and apple pie spice for the glaze instead of the lemon juice. Made 18 for 112, calories. Ty so much for this recipe. Its so versatile.
These look amazing!!! I need them ASAP!
Wouldn’t make these again. Ever try rolling up a sloppy pie filling with larger bits of fruit? Well, it’s a mess. I am experienced in making rolls, but the sloppiness and difficulties in cutting the slices was not worth it. I’d use the wonderful pie filling for something else, but never for this recipe again.
Dayna,
I rolled mine similar to doing a jelly roll but used parchment paper. Once it was rolled I put it in the freezer for about an hour then cut it. Let it rise a bit longer than you normally would. 🙂 less mess
Quick question can u tell me what is half and half
Half heavy cream and half milk. It is located by the milk.
Hey do you let the yeast rise before you put it in the flour mixture or just dry?
Can u a bread machine
Just tried to make these…looks like some errors in the recipe like 21 oz of pie filling and 1/2 tsp of sugar. Impossible to roll up 21 oz of pie filling into a roll – it’s a complete mess. Way too much filling. This is basically strawberry cobbler. A half a teaspoon of sugar is a pinch…why bother. I’d love to see a video of someone trying to make this.
nice change up with strawberries- my best bud loves raspberries & I bet they would be yummy
The list of ingredients asks for 3 1/4 cups flour. The instructions ask for 2 1/4. Which is it? Thank you.
Never mind. I see now where the extra cup of is used.
oh yum. love the pie filling option do much easier & options open.
These rolls are soooooooooooooo good.
AWE!! Thank you so much! I appreciate you sharing! XOXO
I planned on making this for my cotton harvesters but my husband’s cousin is allergic to cinnamon. I wonder if it will still taste good without the cinnamon?
Strawberry’s are my favorite fruit can’t wait to bake it for my family!
I’ve never made breakfast rolls before, and I must be dumb as a post. Your instructions say, “Roll up the 15 inch side into a log and pinch the seams.” I don’t understand. Which direction am I rolling that 9×15 rectangle? Is the resulting log 9 inches long or 15 inches long?
You will want to roll it up so you can cut the log into sections which will look like a cinnamon roll once you place in the pan. Hope that helps clarify for you! Best of luck! You will enjoy these rolls!! XOXO
I have read the instructions 10 times and for some reason I dont understand #2. Do you add just one cup of flour or all the flour mixture to the egg water mixture?
In a large mixing bowl whisk together 2 1/4 cups flour, yeast, sugar, and salt. Add to the stand mixer with dough hook attached. (You can also make this by hand, just knead until smooth once all of the ingredients are added.) Add the egg and water and mix until just starting to combine. Slowly add in the milk mixture and 1 cup of flour until the dough starts to form and become smooth. Let the dough rest for 10 minutes.
You will add part of the flour 2 1/4 cups with the yeast, sugar and salt. Then add in egg and water and mix together. Then add in milk and the remainder 1 cup flour. Hope that helps! XOXO
Looks so good. I will try it now.
Fantastic recipes!
iliketomakethesemyhusbandloves cinnamonrollsbut thinkhave to sugar for me i am diabetic
Can you make these ahead…bake then freeze?
Yes, that is a great idea! Enjoy!
I li e in the UK what is half and half plz?
Half and Half is half milk and half cream. Hope that helps!
Does this dough rise?? Like is it supposed to rise at all in the 10 minutes you let it sit?? ?? or does it rise after you cut it up and put it in the pan before baking??
The rise time is between when you place the dough in a greased 9×13 inch pan and cover with a damp cloth and let rise for 30 minutes. Once it rises then you will bake it for 30 minutes. Hope that clarifies for you.
Made these vegan and they were a hit! I used Oatly for the milk. Country Crock Plantbased Butter, Bob’s Redmill Egg Replacer, and Ripples Half & Half. Came out perfect with the same measurements!
Going to try this with Grand Cinnamon rolls since I don’t have the space or own a mixer.
