Ingredients For Air Fryer Egg Rolls

- Ground Chicken: Ground pork or ground beef can be substituted.
- Sriracha Sauce: This adds flavor and a little kick to the filling, but you can leave it out if you prefer.
- Olive Oil Spray: Don’t forget the spray! It helps give the egg rolls that golden, crispy color.
- Water: Keep a small bowl of water close by when wrapping the egg rolls. It helps seal the edges of the wrapper.
How to Make Air Fryer Egg Rolls
These air fryer egg rolls are easier to make than you might think! If rolling egg rolls feels a little intimidating, don’t worry, I’ve included step-by-step photos to walk you through each step. Not in the mood to roll? Try my egg roll in a bowl for all the same delicious flavors with no wrapping required!
- Cook the Coleslaw Mix: Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the garlic, ginger, and celery. Cook for 1 minute, stirring often. Add the coleslaw mix and cook until the cabbage softens, about 2 minutes.
- Cook the Chicken: Add the ground chicken, oyster sauce, soy sauce, sesame oil, and sriracha. Break up the chicken as it cooks. Cook until the chicken is no longer pink and the liquid has evaporated, about 3 to 4 minutes. Stir in the green onions and remove the skillet from the heat.
- Add Filling: Lay an egg roll wrapper on a clean surface, with one corner pointing toward you. Spoon 2 to 3 tablespoons of filling onto the bottom half of the wrapper.
- Fold Bottom: Fold the bottom corner over the filling. Fold in both sides.
- Roll: Roll it up tightly like a burrito. Moisten the top edge with water and press to seal. Repeat with the remaining wrappers and filling.
- Air Fry: Place the egg rolls in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Lightly spray the tops with olive oil. Air fry at 400°F for 6 minutes. Flip the egg rolls, spray the other side with more oil, and cook for another 6 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.

Alyssa’s Pro Air Fryer Egg Rolls Tips
- Keep Wrappers Covered: Place a damp paper towel over the wrappers while you work to keep them soft and easy to roll.
- Seal the Edges: Brush the wrapper edges with water or egg wash so they stick, and the filling stays inside.
- Leave Some Space: Don’t overcrowd the air fryer basket. Cook in batches so hot air can circulate and crisp every side.

What to Serve With Egg Rolls
Turn these egg rolls into a full takeout-inspired meal! Pair them with some of my other favorite Asian recipes for a homemade feast that’s even better than ordering out.

Really good recipe! I used the air fryer at 350° and about 5 min each side. I used grnd pork and omitted the celery. They turned out great! I love the healthier alternative to frying. Definitely adding this to my rotation. I served the egg rolls with brown rice pad thai noodles, chicken and broccoli (similar to lo mein). I mixed up my own stir fry sauce with oyster sauce, soy sauce, sesame oil, Sriracha, garlic, ginger and a little brown sugar. Thanks for sharing this recipe!
i NEED RECIPES FOR COVENTIONAL COOKING. DON’T HZVE ZN ZIR FRYER/
Hi Barb, no problem. Frying is best but if you’d like to bake these place in a single layer on a lightly greased baking sheet. Lightly brush the outsides with vegetable oil. Cook in a preheated oven at 425 degrees for 15-20 minutes, flipping once half way through. They will be golden but not a deep brown and probably not as crispy but still oh so good. You could also use this recipe which fries them in oil for a crispier shell. Let me know if you have any questions!
Delicious! I wonder if my egg roll wrappers were bigger? I got 3+ TBSP in each and they closed easily. I used shredded cabbage and finely diced carrots instead of a package of slaw but otherwise it followed your recipe exactly. The flavor is amazing!
I am making a batch of these for my son. What would be the air fryer temp and time be for frozen egg rolls? Thanks, these are great btw.
To cook them from frozen, set it to 400° and cook for 10 to 12 minutes, flipping them halfway through!
I’m going to make air fryer egg rolls tomorrow..??
I hope you love them as much as I do!!
Delicious spring rolls and very easy to make I will make these again and again
Mine cooked in 4 mins at 360. When I tried 400 they were burnt. I used vegan wraps.
I’d love to make these GF, do you think the rice wrappers that you have to pre-soak as for summer rolls would work?
Any suggestions for cooking this recipe in an oven equipped with air fryer mode?
I would follow these same instructions and temperatures. It should work the same, except yours will be placed on a cooking sheet on a rack instead of in the basket. I recommend using a dark baking sheet if possible. This will help maintain that crispy texture.
Thanks so much!
Can I make these a day ahead? And keep,in frig until ready to cook?
These are best when they are made just before you cook them!
Hey I tried these and they were great! I was just wondering if they can go in the oven? If so what temp and how long?
Sure! You can preheat oven to 425 degrees. Place egg rolls seam side down on a baking sheet so that they are not touching. Spray the egg roll with nonstick cooking spray. Bake for 10-15 minutes till golden flipping 2-3 times while baking. If you want extra crispiness broil for one minute on each side. Let me know how they turn out!
These are delicious!! So much healthier than store bought or take-out. Pretty easy to make.
I made the air fryer version as well as the deep-fried egg rolls..the test-kitchen group (aka family) preferred deep-fry..the AF produces tough skin compared to DF..but with some tweaking (like preheating the AF) I may get this method working..I also used my traditional Chinese pork-cabbage filling..
But I agree, AF is a much cleaner and less-utensils method!
Made these last night and they are amazing!????
The recipe was easy to follow and they came out really yummy!!
Excellent. Followed the recipe exactly except we roll the egg rolls and pinch the ends. Will make again.
I tried the recipe with two different meats we had on hand. Had some leftover chicken and some smoked pulled pork. I used a full recipe with half chicken and half smoked pulled pork. They were excellent!
