5 Minute Million Dollar Dip Recipe

Can I just say how much I love my readers and fans? I hope you know how much I appreciate all of your amazing comments and support in keeping this blog going. I especially love when readers send me messages and recipes that they want me to try. This recipe was sent to me from a reader telling me that I have to try it!  With it being only 5 ingredients and taking 5 minutes to make, I couldn’t wait to make it!

This dip has mayonnaise, green onions, cheddar cheese, and bacon bits. If you are looking to substitute the mayonnaise you can use greek yogurt, or even sour cream, but the mayonnaise is a key ingredient in bringing this dip all together. I loved all of the ingredients in this dip and the slivered almonds were my favorite part! They added the perfect crunch to this dip.  It is a MUST make for your next watch party or gathering. Everyone won’t be able to get enough of it! You will quickly see why it is called a Million Dollar Dip!

Ingredients for Million Dollar Dip

With just a few simple ingredients you can create some major deliciousness!

  • Green Onions: Their mild taste and crunchy texture are perfect in this dip!
  • Cheddar Cheese: For the best results, use freshly shredded cheese.  Shredded cheese in a bag won’t mix as well with this dip and the flavor isn’t as bright.
  • Mayonnaise: Use your favorite brand since this is the base of the entire dip.
  • Real Bacon Bits: Pre-cooked bacon works great and adds to the ease of prep for this already easy dip.
  • Slivered Almonds: These slivered almonds give the dip a nutty flavor without overwhelming each bite.

How to Make Million Dollar Dip

This dip honestly tastes so good, your friends and family will think it took a lot more effort to put together. Little do they know it only takes 2 quick steps to create!

  1. Mix Together Ingredients: Add green onions, cheddar cheese, mayonnaise, bacon bits, and slivered almonds to a small bowl. Mix until fully combined.
  2. Chill and Enjoy: Refrigerate for at least 2 hours. Serve with your favorite crackers.

Million Dollar Dip Quick Tips

Upgrade your dip with just a few quick and easy tips!

  • Cheese: Freshly shredded cheddar works best in this recipe. Packaged cheese typically lacks the flavor and texture that fresh cheese has. You can substitute cheddar for aged Gouda or Gruyere.
  • Mayonnaise: You can substitute mayo for sour cream or Greek yogurt, but I have found that mayonnaise works best to achieve a perfectly creamy texture.
  • Almonds: You can chop your almonds into smaller pieces for bite-sized texture.
  • Flavor Additions: Add in garlic, homemade ranch or Italian seasoning for an extra burst of flavor in your dip!

What to Serve With 5 Minute Million Dollar Dip

I love using bigger crackers like Ritz for this dip, but it also tastes amazing with tortilla chips and pretzels! Kettle chips are also a great pairing with their thicker texture and bite. You can make some of my quick and easy air fryer potato chips for a snack match made in heaven!

Storing Million Dollar Dip

Storing dips is just as easy as making them. I love having dips on hand for when I get late night munchies because you can eat them straight out of the fridge! Your dip will stay good for up to 4 days in an airtight container.

  1. I don’t like much salt do to medications I take, what can be added to absorb the salt? Also I’d probably heat mine up! Can’t wait to try it!!!

  2. I just made this for a potluck Oscar party tonight. I made it per the recipe, refrigerated it and then tasted it. It needed some salt, pepper and garlic powder and now it’s perfect! I will make this again!

  3. A friend made this and it was absolutely amazing !! I’m not a big onion fan but I was surprised !!! I cant wait to try it this weekend for super
    bowl

  4. I made this for a football event…there was so much food there…but this was one that everyone commented on…they couldn’t figure out the crunch…I noticed on the video that sliced almonds were used…but I used the slivered as the recipe requested…I thought the dip was a bit on the salty side…but no one else thought so…its also delicious warmed up …but I noticed it developed a pool of grease…this made a beautiful presentation…

  5. This looks really good.
Would either Betty Crocker’s Bac-Os or Oscar Mayer’s turkey bacon be just as good in this good in this?

    1. Yes…turkey bacon works great. See further up where I replied to someone with the same question for my tip on making turkey baco-bits

  6. I liked it cold…but the next day I heated some up and thought it was more like a Two Million Dollar Dip!! To me, it tastes way better heated up!

  7. Made this but omitted the almond slivers and green onions due to not having any. I also did not chill for 2 hours. Tried it 1st with sour cream using small amt of ingredients but it wasn’t good. Then tried it with the mayo, what a big difference, I doubled the recipe. It was a hit, had none left.

  8. I made this as a Christmas Eve appetizer and it was a huge hit. We had the leftovers on toast the next day and it was awesome that way too. I will definitely be making this again. Thanks for a great recipe.

  9. This was ok, not great. I ended up adding a little salt and pepper and then some garlic powder. I think the mayo is the problem. I’ll probably use cream cheese if I try it again.

  10. I made it last night, it was good but too salty. I think it was the mayo I used, it had 125mg of sodium in it. Can I fix this by adding some sour cream or cream cheese? Or should I toss it and start over?

  11. I made this for a party but added a few extra ingredients. Chopped Jalapeños, corn and diced water chestnuts. It went so fast!!!! Made it again as a filling for tea sandwiches (because it’s phenomenal on bread too?) for a girls outing, it was the first thing to be completely consumed!!!!
Seems best when allowed to be refrigerated overnight.
    The best!!!!

  12. I’ve made this for years – I only use Hellman’s mayo and real crumbled bacon! It’s great as a cold dip but also makes the most AMAZING stuffed mushrooms! Has an entirely different taste warmed up. We also add it to scrambled eggs!! So good!!!!!
