Ingredients for Slow Cooker Angel Chicken
This recipe only uses 8 easy-to-find ingredients! But the best part is that it takes 5 minutes to put together. I love that the ingredients will keep in the pantry and fridge until I’m ready to make it. It truly is one of the best meals to plan ahead for those busy nights. See the recipe card below for a list of exact ingredient measurements.
- Boneless Skinless Chicken Breasts: Use fresh boneless, skinless chicken breasts for this recipe.
- Cream Cheese: Anything with cream cheese is AMAZING! It makes the sauce so creamy and delicious.
- Butter: Because everything is better with butter.
- Cream of Chicken Soup: The flavor and trick to the creamy sauce!
- Garlic: Adds great flavor to this dish.
- Chicken Broth: Chicken broth helps combine all the ingredients together and add moisture.
- Dry Italian Dressing Mix: Make sure to grab the dry dressing mix, not bottled. It adds the BEST flavor to this meal.
- Angel Hair Pasta: Cook up the pasta right before serving! I love angel hair pasta because it cooks so fast. You can also serve it over rice or potatoes!

Tips for Cooking with a Crockpot
Using a crockpot is easy but try out these tips and it will make cooking with one even easier! You may never go back to cooking on your stove again! This slow cooker angel chicken is the perfect place to start!
- Keep the Lid ON: I know itโs tempting to want to take the lid off and check on your food! But a crockpot is designed to do its thing with the lid ON. Keep the lid on and donโt let out all of that heat that has been built up! Just look through the glass and trust your recipe!
- Preheat Your Crockpot: A lot of people donโt do this and it really is a step that should always be taken. Turn your crockpot on to the correct setting about 20 minutes before you plan on putting your food in it. You can just turn it on while you prep your food!
- Spray It: If you spray your slow cooker with cooking spray before you put your food in, then your cleanup will be so much easier! This helps so that your food doesnโt stick to the sides. Trust me, itโs an easy step that you will appreciate doing later!
How to Store Leftovers
If you thought this slow cooker angel chicken tasted good on the first day, then wait until you try the leftovers. They are SOO GOOD and so perfect for lunch the next day. My kids fight over the leftovers!
- In the Refrigerator: Once the angel chicken has cooled then you can place it in an airtight container in your fridge. It will last for up to 3 days.
- To Reheat: Reheat leftover angel chicken in the microwave in a microwave-safe bowl. Cook for 1-2 minutes or until it is warmed through.

This is SO good! Highly recommend anyone looking at this recipe to just make it!! I wasn’t sure about it myself at first but I am so glad I did make it
This was so good and easy to make. Definitely will make again.
If I can’t find the dry Italian dressing mix, can I just use Italian seasoning, or what can I use?
Can we do this in the IP?
Yes! I would cook it on manual high pressure for 15 minutes.
What size Italian dressing packet please? How many ounces?
There are usually about 2 Tablespoons of Italian dressing in a packet.
Is the calories listed the total for all four servings, or is that per serving?
That is an estimante per serving.
Can I freeze before adding the pasta to take camping?
You can freeze the sauce! And yes, cook the noodles right before serving it.
Just finished this for dinner. It was really good the way it is. I always make the recipe following the instructions to the letter the first time. Super easy to make which is always a plus in my book. Next time I make this may add some broccoli or carrots? Maybe some bacon?
This recipe was honestly amazing! Very flavorful and almost too easy to make. At first glance it does look a little plain simply because it is white sauce and chicken but there is nothing plain about the flavor. I wasn’t sure what could be added in to kind make it more vibrant, maybe next time I’ll add peas and carrots buy there is honestly no need to deviate from the recipe.
I think vegetables would be good also. It was very good.
What amount of chicken broth is recommended? I usually use the loose chicken bouillon when a recipe calls for chicken broth and I canโt make out the oz in the picture
1 can of chicken broth. The recipe card is at the bottom of the post and it lists all of the ingredients and amounts!
How many ounces of chicken broth is what they are asking, and I’d like to know too. I don’t buy broth in cans.
A can of chicken broth is 14.5 ounces.
Is it the same size can for the cream of chicken soup?
The cream of chicken soup is a standard 10 ounce can.
Made a double batch tonight. I feel like it is okay, but tasted bland to my household. I followed the recipe, maybe another packet of Italian dressing would make it more flavorful..or it could be too much. If I made this again I’d change it up a bit but all in all was decent.
Great recipe, thank you! I substituted cream of chicken with mushroom chicken soup (considering I needed more liquid for larger portion of chicken /5 breasts), as well as used half the butter, with added sour cream to the mix, together with one large package of pre-sauteed mushrooms at the end; plus few shakes of garlic salt, fresh pepper, and parmiggiano….yummy!
Hi can you use noodles instead of tortellini?
Hi! This recipe uses angel hair pasta, but you can use whatever pasta you like!
