Ingredients in Steak Bites
These garlic butter herb steak bites pack a punch with the flavor, and yet achieving that delicious taste is so easy! Check out the recipe card at the bottom of the post for all of the exact measurements.
- Olive Oil: You will cook the steak and potatoes in this.
- Butter: I used unsalted butter in this recipe.
- Yukon Gold Potatoes: Once you slice these up into quarters, then they will be the perfect size to complement the steak bites.
- Garlic Cloves: You can use minced garlic if you don’t have fresh garlic cloves on hand. 1/2 teaspoon equals about 1 clove of garlic.
- Dried Thyme, Rosemary, and Oregano: These dried herbs bring together a delicious aroma of flavors.
- Sirloin Steaks: The better the cut of steak, the better your meat will turn out!
- Salt and Pepper: These enhance all of the flavors in the steak bites.
Let’s Make Garlic Herb Butter Steak Bites
- Cook the Potatoes: Heat a large cast iron skillet over medium-high heat and then add olive oil and butter, potatoes, garlic, thyme, rosemary, and oregano. Cook for about 3 minutes, stir, and cook an additional 3 minutes until fork tender. Remove and set aside on a plate.
- Add Steak: Turn the skillet to high heat. Add the steak bites. Let the steak sear for a minute, and then continue to stir the steak until they are golden brown.
- Garnish: Top the steak with fresh chopped herbs (optional).
Do I have to use Sirloin Steak?
No! You can use other steaks in this garlic herb and butter steak bite recipe. You can substitute with a tenderloin, or New York strip steak.
Storing Leftovers
These garlic herb and butter steak bites make delicious leftovers, and I love having them for lunch or dinner the next day! You can store leftover steak bites in an airtight container in your fridge for 2-3 days. Then, when you are ready to reheat them, cook them in a skillet on low until they are heated through.

This was a great and easy recipe, I did add more seasoning to the meat and potatoes; also finished the potatoes in the air fryer while I cooked the meat. I tenderized the meat with baking soda also, it was so tender and flavorful; 5 stars from the fam!
I boiled the potato is before from my and added mushrooms to the beef when cooking it. After combining everything I added peaches and be cream corn for color. Absolutely delicious ๐
Delicious.. I just wish there were less commercials during the video. I saw 7 commercials.. That’s way to many!!
My family loves this recipe but I found that the potatoes never got fully cooked so I started boiling them for about 5 minutes before frrying
Nice recipe! I’d add the chopped garlic to the steak bites to marinate for 24 hours prior to sautรฉing to permeate and infuse flavor, and increase the amount used, but it came out great!
Nice recipe! I’d add the chopped fish garlic to the steak cubes for 24 hours prior to sautรฉing, but it was very good!
This recipe sucks potatoes donโt cook in 6 minutes. And thereโs not even garlic flavor to it. Meat has no flavor, potatoes just taste like herbs. Wouldnโt recommend.
I wish you had an actual cookbook with all of these amazing recipes. I would love to have it and Iโm sure so many other of your followers would love to have one as well
Hi Alyssa quick question. Do the potatoes cook in just that six minute period on the skillet? Or do I boil them before?
They cook in the skillet! But you can always cook them a little beforehand if you want them softer.
Hi Alyssa is this recipe supposed to be fresh herbs?
Yes, this recipe uses fresh herbs!
Iโve made this before and it was great!
Seems like the recipe was edited..?? Doesnโt ever say to add garlic, though itโs needed for the recipe. Never to combine the meat and potatoes
Hello! The recipe states to add the garlic in step one along with the other seasonings. Let me know if you have any more questions!
I was feeling uninspired for a while and then one fine day this recipe showed up like a blessing and I tried it out immediately. The garlic butter steak bites are lovely and I also serve it to the guests some times. Utterly juicy and delicious to describe in a couple of words.
It surprised me. I didnโt think it was good but it turned out so delicious!!
I followed the directions, heating up a cast iron skillet to medium high heat, and the skillet was WAY hotter than olive oilโs smoke point, causing the entire kitchen and living room to smoke up.
Iโm sorry, but we found this to be far from flavorful. I added quartered mushrooms, but why would that take the flavor away. Wonโt make this again. Sorry.
Great quick meal! My whole family loved it.
Took a little longer to cook id say more like 5-10 mins for potatoโs and 10 mins for steak. I didnโt use a cast iron though so that may of been my problem. but still very quick process
