Korean Ground Beef and Rice Bowls

Korean Ground Beef and Rice Bowls

This right here is my boy’s favorite weeknight meal. They beg me to make it every week. Since we have been so busy with Lacrosse, we have been having it every week. It requires minimal ingredients and little effort to make.

With minimal ingredients and big flavor, my kids devour it every time. The ground beef browns in minutes but still brings that classic Korean taste with brown sugar, soy sauce, sesame oil, and ginger. I always have these simple ingredients on hand, so all I need is a pound of ground beef to make it happen. Serve it over rice, toss in some veggies, and top with sesame seeds and green onions for a quick, delicious dinner you’ll make again and again. If you love these flavors, try my Slow Cooker Korean BBQ Chicken next!

My new favorite! However I use cut up broiled boneless/skinless chicken thighs. I season them with the black pepper then after they are lightly seared on each side, add the sauce till it gets to the thickness I like. It is extra good if I have fresh ginger on hand! Love!!!

This recipe is quick, easy and fabulous. I made it as written for my son. His wife was working but took it for lunch the next day and a work mate requested the recipe. I made it for us with ground turkey and Swerve brown sugar substitute. Totally awesome. Thank you so much!

Just finished eating this. Doubled the sauce as it was a bit dry and added some fresh chopped broccoli (which i simmered with the sauce and meat for about 8-10 minutes). Absolutely delicious!

I made this vegan and gluten free by substituting Beyond Meat for the beef and Braggs Aminos for the soy sauce. Very delicious! I made steamed broccoli to go with it. Next time I will try adding fresh ginger, and may cut back a little on the aminos as it made it a bit too salty for my taste.

This is great! I doubled the sauce. It was a little dry until I added more. Green oniony make it fresh tasting. Don’t skip them.

This is a great weekday meal that is flavorful and manageable. We eat this and variations of this a couple times a month

OMG!! My family of 5 ALL loved this recipe and that is no easy feat! They were fighting for seconds and to take the leftovers for school the next day! It was so awesome to find a recipe that had such new great flavours and easy to make. Loved that I could make it ahead of time and freeze it for another day. Definitely will become a regular family recipe!!

This is easy and delicious ?! I made this for my son and was asked for the recipe. Tonite I made it with ground turkey and Swerve for the brown sugar-again totally delicious! Thank you!

  8. Surprisingly simple and still so tasty. I substituted fresh ginger for the powdered and added diced Kohlrabi. Even my husband liked it, who isn’t a fan of rice dishes. A nice touch of spice but I might dice a fresh red chili next time to take it up an even higher notch. Thank you!

Wasn’t sure I’d go for the flavor of this but was happily surprised by it. Just enough sweet and spice and so quick to make definitely going into my fave recipes. Thanks for sharing

This was super easy to make and my husband, who is a very picky eater, liked this. I’m in shock because he never likes anything new. ?

  12. This time of the year is so hectic and I’m looking to cook quick, yet healthy meals. I made this last night for dinner and the flavors are so good. My critics just had a couple of comments….drain beef of fat before adding sauce and add a little more of crushed red pepper. I made a side of bok choy and that was dinner. I had no leftovers. Thank you for a great fast recipe.

You saved me! I googled rice and ground beef recipes because that was all I had on hand. Luckily I cook Asian type dishes enough so I had all of the spices and sauces. I made this exactly as you listed and even topped with sesame seeds. Kids loved it, so did I! This will be a weekly rotation for sure. It is also very budget conscious. I have been looking to cut back my food spending. Thank you.
