Lobster Ravioli Sauce Ingredients
The ingredients needed for this cream sauce are fairly simple. Get the lobster and wine, and your kitchen has the rest! Itโs the kind of recipe youโll want to make, special occasion or not! The exact measurements can be found in the recipe card at the end of the post.
- Lobster: Chopped and cooked, ready to add to the sauce.
- Butter: Butter is lobsterโs best friend! Add it to your lobster ravioli sauce for richness and flavor.
- Shallot: Diced shallots add a sweet but sharp flavor thatโs the perfect addition to any sauce.
- Garlic: Adds that amazing savory flavor to the sauce.
- Dried Thyme and Basil: Thyme is earthy and minty, while basil is peppery and aromatic. Both complement this sauce really well!
- Dry White Wine: Added for more complex flavor and aroma. Cooking with white wine helps to balance out richness.
- Heavy Cream: The creamy base of this sauce makes it absolutely decadent.
- Old Bay Seasoning: Adds a hint of heat and peppery flavor!
- Kosher Salt: I use kosher salt for its chunky size. It also helps to keep flavor more pure and less bitter.
- Black Pepper: For a little extra kick!
- Fresh Parsley and Parmesan Cheese: Add a little on top for that perfect garnish!
- Lobster Ravioli or Cheese Ravioli: You can use either! Your favorite pasta can be swapped in, too.

Unbelievably good! Didnโt have dried basil so omitted and didnโt add the extra salt but Iโve had this 3 times already. I just use leftover lobster meat from when we have lobster and make the sauce to use over pasta. So so good and so easy!
I was wondering is it possible to use half and half instead of heavy cream or do you think it would make the sauce too thin?
Making it again tonight! So glad I found this recipe!
I haven’t tried half and half but I think that would work! Let me know how it turns out!
So what I did was make 1 1/2 times the recipe and used 2 cups of heavy cream and 1 cup half and half. It was still sooo delicious. Itโs hard to mess up this recipe! Of course itโs MUCH richer with the heavy cream but I think if I were to sub out all the cream for half and half it would still taste amazingโฆ. just not as rich. I am making it AGAIN tonight. Four times in 2 months. I just love it so much! Thanks again for an incredible recipe!
Made this sauce with bay scallops over pasta as well. I use 1 cup half and half and 1 cup heavy cream. Itโs definitely my go to for a quick and elegant dinner.
This was a huge disappointment. Don’t add 2 tsp of old bay and one tsp salt. It was so salty I couldn’t eat it and I like my salt. The old bay is pretty overpowering, I couldn’t taste the lobster at all. A huge waste of money.
I was wondering if this sauce could be made without adding the chopped cooked lobster or
would it be too bland without it? I have some lobster ricotta cheese ravioli purchased at Sams Club and I would love to make this sauce to go with the ravioli and serve as a side for Easter with a baked Ham, asparagus and a lot of other sides.
There is a lot of flavor in the sauce so I don’t think it would be too bland without the lobster. Especially if you already have some ravioli with lobster in it that you would be adding this to. Let me know how it turns out! Happy Easter, your meal sounds delicious!!
This sauce was delicious! We had lobster ravioli and the flavors were perfectly complimentary. I didn’t have shallots on hand, so I substituted finely chopped onion, which added some nice texture. The recipe made more sauce than we needed, so I am using the leftover sauce on fettuccini with scallops. Yum! This would be an elegant meal for guests.
Ooh, that’s a great idea!!
