Korean Ground Beef and Rice Bowls
This right here is my boys favorite weeknight meal. They beg me to make it every week. Since we have been so busy with Lacrosse we have been having it every week. It requires minimal ingredients and requires little effort to make.
Easy, minimal ingredients, and my kids devour it. This meal became my new BFF.
The ground beef takes only minutes to brown but you still get that delicious Korean flavor in this meal. The brown sugar, soy sauce, sesame oil, and ginger combination is the best.
It helps take the flavor to next level with the simple kitchen ingredients. The best part is that because we love Asian flavors so much I always have these ingredients on hand. All I have to do is buy a pound of ground beef each week.
You guys are going to love this meal just as much as we do! It is so delicious when served over rice and I even like to add some veggies to my bowl to make it a well rounded meal.
Sprinkle with some sesame seeds and freshly chopped green onions and you have about the easiest meal that you will ever make! You will make this again and again!

Had all the ingredients on hand, and it was a hit. I did add some veggies to the finished product, and I doubled the sauce, because I used more ground beef. Will be making this again! Thanks!
This was great! I added peas and cumin and this will be a regular!
This turnes out SO good!! I love it. Put it over kimichi fried rice and added some more kimichi to go along with it! Substituted the pepper flakes for gochujang and also sauteed onions with the beef ! So delicious
surprisingly i had every single ingredient! i’ve never had ground beef over rice but this was delicious. tastes like edo sauce just not as thick. i did julienne some carrots and add them to the ground beef, and it added a nice crunch to the overall texture. rotation worthy for me too, thank you!
My husband rarely praises a meal, but this one got rave reviews from him!!:) he requests this & calls it the best ground beef ever. I definitely recommend this recipe!
Yes yes yes yes this was amazing!! So simple!! I had 1.5lb hamburger, so I doubled the sauce recipe and added a bag of steamed broccoli florets. So simple, cheap, easy, and most of all DELICIOUS! And the leftovers are great too! Thank you!!
Great weeknight dinner, very easy and quick to make, ideal for busy hockey schedules. Definitely will be added to the rotation.
I ran out of brown sugar– could I use granulated sugar instead?
Yes, that would work but not the same sweet taste like a brown sugar.
This was delicious! Quick and easy with all the flavs! I added a bell pepper And a bag of cabbage for veggies. Everyone loved it and thatโs not easy to do in my house. Thank you!
Holy Moly!!!! THANK YOU <3 absolutely love this recipe and I've been sending it to friends all afternoon. So simple and so easy. I will be cooking this for the rest of my life.
Delicious recipe! I make this often as itโs a family favorite!
This is so easy and sooooo tasty! My husband and I absolutely love it. Thanks so much for the recipe!
Thank you the food was really loved by my family. I love cooking and will always use your recipes.
My family liked it as is. Very easy to make and quick. Next time, if I have it, I will add some diagonally sliced celery and pea pods.
I did use part soy sauce and part Braggs Amino Acid in the sauce. I added cayenne powder along with the red pepper flakes because we like spicy. Also had syrachi sauce for the table.
Iโm all out of sesame oil! Will it still be okay without it? Any ideas for subtitutes?
Hi Erica! No problem, I have used teriyaki sauce in the past and it is just as delicious!
This is good to hear! I just looked at sesame oil and I was shocked at the price (at least at our local store). Teriyaki sauce sounds like a great substitute. Thank you. Can’t wait to try this!
So easy and I had almost everything on hand! My family loved it. I didnโt have low sodium soy sauce so did half soy half coconut aminos. I peeled and sliced 3 carrots into coins and sautรฉd in the beef fat after browning the beef but before adding the sauce. It was delicious!
Fantastic! “Rotation worth” my husband states!!! Kids asked me if they could have leftovers for lunch ๐ I thinks is a WIN!
Doubled the recipe and added oven roasted broccoli on top.
DELISH!! easy to make and done in no time. Add a side of broccoli and youโre done. Think Iโll make more sauce and rice next time so I can stretch out the recipe for more servings. Can easily use chicken for this recipe. YUM!! ๐
