Korean Ground Beef and Rice Bowls

Korean Ground Beef and Rice Bowls

This right here is my boys favorite weeknight meal. They beg me to make it every week. Since we have been so busy with Lacrosse we have been having it every week. It requires minimal ingredients and requires little effort to make.

Easy, minimal ingredients, and my kids devour it. This meal became my new BFF.

The ground beef takes only minutes to brown but you still get that delicious Korean flavor in this meal. The brown sugar, soy sauce, sesame oil, and ginger combination is the best.

It helps take the flavor to next level with the simple kitchen ingredients. The best part is that because we love Asian flavors so much I always have these ingredients on hand. All I have to do is buy a pound of ground beef each week.

You guys are going to love this meal just as much as we do! It is so delicious when served over rice and I even like to add some veggies to my bowl to make it a well rounded meal.

Sprinkle with some sesame seeds and freshly chopped green onions and you have about the easiest meal that you will ever make! You will make this again and again!

This is one of my regulars. I use a wok, cook the beef until most of the stream is gone and it has a nice fond, add the garlic, give it a stir for a minute, then add the sauce. I serve it over brown rice and texture is lovely. This is quick, delicious and attractive with sesame seeds and green onion garnish. Beautiful!

I just made this for dinner tonight. I had some ground beef leftover and plenty of rice. This recipe came right up from google. Tasted delicious.

Definitely seeing it being a weekend/Friday evening dinner. Just feels like a treat. Think I’ll add some more pepper flakes next time! 😀

I love this dish! It’s so easy to make. I’ve used regular ground beef and sliced beef. The only thing I do different is double all the ginger, sesame oil, soy sauce, red pepper flakes, garlic. I keep the brown sugar the same. Thank you for this very quick “rotation dish”.

  4. This was so simple and delicious. I would make this again but will add veggies next time to make it more balance. My kids loved it 🙂

I rarely leave reviews, but I had to on this one. It’s so quick and easy to throw together that I’ve wound up making it three times now. I usually do 1.5x for the sauce because I like the rice to absorb some liquid… and the last time I made it, I had leftover rice and just threw it in the pan at the end so it really took on the liquid well. I add some sliced carrots and snap peas for texture/flavor/color. Definitely recommend this one!

2 out of 4 of us are super picky. We all LOVED this! I just put it in my Evernote file of recipes to make regularly. Thank you!

Changed it up slightly by adding in steamed broccoli and using fresh ginger (+ extra ginger)!

I also made extra sauce and added some to the rice to slightly change the flavor and have it soak into it. Everyone loved it!!! One person requested more sauce for the side, but everyone else found it to be perfect as is! Felt like a really filling, subtly sweet dish that was a crowd pleaser for the whole family, from toddlers to my old parents.

We love this, super quick, flavorful and easy. I added about 1 tablespoon of gochujang (Korean spice blend, like sirracha) topped with steamed broccoli.

  9. Freaking amazing! I put in some broccoli florets and toasted peanuts as well. Kids couldn’t get enough

  10. Hello! Should I drain the beef before adding the other ingredients? All I have on hand is the 72% lean and there is always a ton of liquid after its cooked.
