Korean Ground Beef and Rice Bowls

Korean Ground Beef and Rice Bowls

This right here is my boy’s favorite weeknight meal. They beg me to make it every week. Since we have been so busy with Lacrosse, we have been having it every week. It requires minimal ingredients and little effort to make.

With minimal ingredients and big flavor, my kids devour it every time. The ground beef browns in minutes but still brings that classic Korean taste with brown sugar, soy sauce, sesame oil, and ginger. I always have these simple ingredients on hand, so all I need is a pound of ground beef to make it happen. Serve it over rice, toss in some veggies, and top with sesame seeds and green onions for a quick, delicious dinner you’ll make again and again. If you love these flavors, try my Slow Cooker Korean BBQ Chicken next!

Love, love this!! Did I mention I ❤️ ❤️❤️ This! I do prep for all week for my son’s lunch, what’s for dinner goes for lunch and this is a lunch once a week for him!

I’ve made this several times now. It’s easy, inexpensive, and quick. I do think the sugar is right on in my opinion, particularly since it’s brown sugar, but it’s easy enough to modify the recipe to your liking. I do a little extra ginger because I love the flavor. I absolutely recommend the sesame seeds and green onions. It makes the meal.

I made this and found it good but was super shocked by the amount of sugar! It was sweet so next time I will cut the sugar in half. Also subbed soy for coconut aminos since I have a celiac daughter.

Wow! I just made this tonight and it was so good!! I needed to use up some ground beef and I wasn’t really feeling like making another hamburger helper type dish. So glad I stumbled upon this recipe! Super easy to make, but packed with so much flavour. I just added some bok choy to get some greens in.

Omgosh!! My husband does not like some of the crazy things I make and ever evening is, what’s for dinner? I sometimes dread making dinner. Tonight looked in my frig and googled hamburger meat. Looked easy and he likes spice foods. Red peppers are not mine ?. I made it as directed and it was easy and very very good. Make it! You’ll love it. He did lol

This is so good, easy and cheap! It is a favorite at my house, everyone asks for it and we rarely have leftovers. I usually double the sauce and have chopped cilantro along with the green onions and sesame seeds. Great with other proteins too. Very yummy! Thank you so much for your great recipe! I’m making it again now by request.

I announced that I was planning making crispy tacos for dinner. My family didn’t have a thrilled response since we just had tacos last week. I jumped on my phone and googled ground beef recipes. I stumbled upon your recipe, and I am so thankful. It was a hit for our family of 5. My particular kids loved it and asked for 2nds. My husband raved about it. I had mine with brown rice and it was very tasty. Thank you

i found this recipe almost a year ago now and made it for my family one night. it was a homerun!!!!!! it has become a staple in our family’s monthly menu. we have made it at least once a month since. hard to beat the convenience, ease, and quickness of this meal. i always add a veggie side as well. we just made this tonight and i thought to myself, “this is so good every time, i need to write a review” lol. i share this recipe with everyone i know and even strangers online LMAO. so good. thank you for this gift!!!

  8. First time trying this recipe. Loved it but found not enough sauce. I did remove the fat from the meat once cooked. Should I have made a double batch of sauce. Added red peppers and frozen peas/corns/carrots which added some veggies.

  9. My family loves this recipe! It’s so fast and easy that I don’t mind making it whenever they ask. Sometimes I’ll add in some onions or thinly sliced carrots cut on the diagonal. Looks so pretty! I’m making it tonight but am using leftover meat – chopped up – from fajita night. I’m positive it will work!

  10. We Loved this recipe. I added 1/3 cup of slivered almonds and 1/4 cup of fresh thinly sliced bell pepper. Served with won ton strips on top. Yummy!

This was easy and delicious. I added frozen peas, onion powder, black sesame seeds, and mirin. I served over lemongrass brown jasmine rice. I will be trying this again with ground turkey.?

  12. My family wasn’t a fan. I think it tasted good but too sweet so, the leftovers I froze and am wracking my brain trying to figure out what else could be done with the beef. Any ideas? I was thinking maybe a sloppy joe sort of thing? Idk. I’m not coming up with any good ideas on my own so, in asking you guys

Made this tonight for the first time and it was really good. Used a little less brown sugar and added a little onion powder. Husband liked it too.
