Korean Ground Beef and Rice Bowls

Korean Ground Beef and Rice Bowls

This right here is my boy’s favorite weeknight meal. They beg me to make it every week. Since we have been so busy with Lacrosse, we have been having it every week. It requires minimal ingredients and little effort to make.

With minimal ingredients and big flavor, my kids devour it every time. The ground beef browns in minutes but still brings that classic Korean taste with brown sugar, soy sauce, sesame oil, and ginger. I always have these simple ingredients on hand, so all I need is a pound of ground beef to make it happen. Serve it over rice, toss in some veggies, and top with sesame seeds and green onions for a quick, delicious dinner you’ll make again and again. If you love these flavors, try my Slow Cooker Korean BBQ Chicken next!

My 1st time making this dish nd my mom loved it. She is so picky so if she really enjoyed it I know its a 10/10. Lol.

Followed the recipe as instructed, but added sautéed mushrooms, and it turned out absolutely delicious! Will be making this again and again!

  3. Easy to make but made according to instructions it is underwhelmingly flavorless. I had to add gochujang and hoisin to give it some depth of flavor to make it more than just ground beef and rice. I also recommend adding vegetables.

Excellent! Easy and kids loved it too!
Question…is the rice factored into the nutritional information?

Words out of my 20 year old growing boy: ” This is INSANE ! It is so good mom!!!”
It literally takes 15 minutes to put it together, and I use it for meal prep. Thank you so much!

This is a very big hit in my house, but I always use fresh ginger (add it with the garlic). I also added cabbage this time (added it shredded after the meat was browned) and we add sriracha to our individual liking. Also, my son loves it with thick noodles instead of rice and it is delicious.

I made this as a vegan dish using ground tempeh and mushroom. Turned out great!
    We really enjoyed this dish.

Easy, quick and the whole family loved it. I used ground turkey instead of beef and honey instead of brown sugar for a gluten free style. I personally prefer beef & brown sugar and have made it this way before.

My husband and I love this recipe, it’s so simple and delicious. Every time we have it I notice something different. I add a little rice vinegar and honey for extra dimension. Thank you so much for this wonderful recipe.

Thanks for the recipe. This was tasty! Made it as directed for dinner and then added green beans and sliced jalapeños when I ate it again as leftovers.
