Pizza Stuffed Crescent Rolls

Pizza-stuffed crescent Rolls are incredibly simple to make and disappear quickly once they come out of the oven. The warm mozzarella melts in your mouth with just a hint of spice from the pepperoni, making for a delicious snack.

I love making these rolls with my kids for a weekend treat or game night snack. My daughter loves helping out in the kitchen, and these are the perfect snacks for us to make together. Watching her little hands prepare them on the cookie sheet melts my heart! My boys also enjoy popping open a tube of crescent rolls after school, unwinding from their day while chatting and laughing in the kitchen. Once the oven beeps, it’s all silence as they devour these tasty snacks!

What Ingredients Do I Need to Make Pizza Crescent Rolls?

There are only a few simple ingredients needed to make these pepperoni pizza crescent rolls, all of which are ready-made. Because of this, putting these together is simple, and your kids will love to make them on their own.

  • 8oz. Can Crescent Rolls: Crescent dough serves the perfect flaky, buttery crust.
  • Pepperoni: Adds a meaty texture and a slightly spicy flavor to give these a nice kick!
  • Mozzarella Cheese Sticks: These are the perfect size to add melty, salty, stringy cheese.
  • Unsalted Butter: Helps give the rolls the perfect golden brown color and crisp texture.
  • Italian Seasoning: Adds a more authentic pizza flavor and gives them beautiful color from the herbs and spices.
  • Garlic Powder: Enhances the garlic bread flavor by slathering butter and seasonings on top.
  • Marinara Sauce: The perfect dipping sauce.

How Do You Make Pizza Stuffed Crescent Rolls?

  1. Prep: Preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit, then line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Pop: Carefully open the can of rolls, then unroll each crescent roll.
  3. Pepperoni: Place slices of pepperoni on the widest side of the triangle.
  4. Cheese: Place a 1/2 of a mozzarella stick on top.
  5. Wrap: Roll the wide end to the smaller tip of the crescent. Then fold in the edges so the cheese can’t melt out when baked.
  6. Coat: Before baking, brush melted butter on top of the crescent rolls.
  7. Dress: Sprinkle with Italian seasoning, garlic powder, or parmesan cheese if desired.
  8. Cook: Bake for 10-14 minutes or until golden brown.
  9. Enjoy! Serve warm with marinara sauce for dipping.

What Toppings Can I Use in My Pizza Stuffed Crescent Rolls?

The great thing about this recipe is that you can customize it to fit your tastes. For instance, if you don’t like pepperoni, that’s no problem at all—you can simply swap it out for something different. Feel free to get creative with different ingredients and make it your own!

  • Pepperoni: For a healthier alternative, you can use turkey pepperoni. You can also use sausage or ham instead of pepperoni.
  • Veggie Add-ins: Sneak in those veggies by adding mushrooms, bell peppers, or onions.
  • Cheese: For best results, use mozzarella sticks, but shredded cheese works great! Switch up the cheese and use cheddar.

Storing and Reheating Leftovers

These pizza-stuffed crescent rolls are best served fresh out of the oven. That said, if you have leftovers, they still taste amazing when reheated. You can use the microwave or air fryer to heat them up perfectly. Here’s how:

  • In the Refrigerator:  Once cooled, transfer the pizza stuffed crescent rolls to an airtight container and store for up to 3 days.
  • Reheat In the Air Fryer: Air fry at 375 degrees Fahrenheit for 3-5 minutes, keeping an eye on the pizza rolls to avoid overcooking.
  • Reheat in the Microwave: For a snack in a pinch, microwave for 30-second intervals or until warm.

  1. Could you assemble these ahead of time, store them in the fridge, and then bake them off later?

Excellent! Very well received by children and adults at church coffee hour. I halved each for smaller portions and served with hot pizza sauce.

  3. Our first try at this we had half with pepperoni the other half with crushed pineapple… we used string cheese and the pepperoni turned out fantastic but the crushed pineapple needed a little extra time to reach perfection. Love this recipe!

I made these today. I used turkey pepperoni since that’s what I had. I also added green pepper & mushroom. They were very tasty.
