The Best Homemade Alfredo Sauce Ever!

The most creamy and delicious homemade alfredo sauce that you will ever make!   This is a tried and true recipe and you will agree that it is the best recipe out there! homemadealfredo2

I just had to post my favorite alfredo recipe that I have created here on the blog.   There are a few secret ingredients that set it apart from all of the rest.  If there is one thing I can always count on my family to eat it is my homemade alfredo sauce over pasta.  We recently had some company over for dinner and I made these Chicken Bacon Garlic Alfredo Roll Ups and they always are a huge hit!

This alfredo sauce is thick and creamy and the flavor is out of the world.  It is restaurant quality that you can make right at home.  It has delicious garlic flavor and italian seasonings.  I like to add cream cheese to my alfredo for that extra creamy flavor and texture.  This alfredo sauce always gets raved about whenever I make it!

This alfredo sauce comes together pretty easily and you will never go back to the jarred alfredo sauce again!  Ick!  This alfredo sauce is awesome on top of just about any pasta but is also delicious used as a dip or even spread on pizza.

I think this sauce is even better than any restaurant that I have been to and the best part is that you can make it yourself!   It is thick, creamy, and rich and the perfect sauce on top of your favorite pasta.

I know that you will quickly agree that this is the BEST!  This will be a recipe that you make again and again, just like I do!

  1. oh yummy! this looks really good!

    • Michelle McNiven says:

I wouldn’t call myself a lover of Alfredo. In fact, most of the recipes I’ve tried, I don’t really care for, even the canned stuff. But I like to pretend I cook like the Olive Garden – since there isn’t one remotely close- And dip breadsticks in alfredo… so I tried this recipe. IT. IS. AMAAAAZING!! WOW! Absolutely incredible!! Love it! If I had this all the time I might say I like Alfredo Sauce!

    • Felicia says:

I stopped liking Alfredo since I moved away from NY. And the store stuff wasn’t remotely near it. But this honey! Added a little Goya sazon with portabello and shataki mushroom sauté chicken. Add the sauce with Noddle’s . I’m not missing home as much anymore. Now I just gotta find the perfect pizza lol!

      • You will probably end up making that yourself too. LOL. After learning to cook better, I now find my own cooking and recipes are better than store or restaurant bought. Sarry.

      • Candy Danielson says:

Lol ..I hear ya..grew up in Chicago and now in Alabama…search for good pizza is s struggle.

  2. Looks great! Do you know if this would freeze well?

  3. I made it last night and bumped up the Parmesan a good bit. But that’s why we all cook to tweak to our own personal taste. Very nice Alyssa.

  4. This looks like it makes about 3 cups of sauce. There are only 2 of us. How long and in which way should I keep it? Alfredo is my husband’s favourite but I wouldn’t want to serve it too too often. Do you think it would freeze or should I just cut down the recipe amounts?

  5. This looks absolutely delicious! I will definitely be trying this recipe out!

  6. Went on to your page to grab the recipe, as it came across as a facebook post. Saw the Chicken Bacon Garlic Alfredo Roll ups that use this sauce and……new family favorite. Halved the batch…but now wishing I had left overs. so YUMMY! looking forward to trying more on your site!

    • Scroll back up and you will see the FB, Pinterest and others you can click on to choose the pic you want and this recipe.

  7. I noticed that in one pic the sauce is in a jar (the one with the wooden spoon)….Can you make this ahead and keep it in the fridge? I live alone and one of my main problems is recipes are usually made for two or four…Cutting them down to a one-person recipe is—interesting to say the least…LOL

    • I actually just received a comment that said they freeze it and it works great! I think that you would be fine leaving it in the fridge for up to a week. If it starts to separate, just whisk it and heat it on the stove. 🙂

  8. This was so delicious. Just made it tonight for dinner and my family loved it. Thank you so much for sharing

  9. Laura Eve says:

The title of the recipe says it all…This is hands-down the BEST alfredo sauce recipe! My whole family loved it. I don’t think I’ll ever try another recipe, this is perfect. My only tip is to be sure to use freshly grated Parmesan; it melts much more smoothly than the kind in the jar.

  10. How much does this yield?

  11. This is definitely the best alfredo recipe. I absolutely love Olive Garden’s Fettuccini Alfredo, and guess what? This stuff tastes just like it!!!! SCORE! Looking at the other recipes on her FB page, they all look great too!

  12. This was a big hit with my husband and me. I had to improvise a bit, and use what I had on hand, but it was still delicious! I used whipped cream cheese, garlic powder, and grated Parmesan cheese from the canister. I can only imagine if I had used the real stuff! Thank you! This recipe is a keeper!

  13. Delicious

  14. Absolutely the BEST alfredo sauce ever! So simple to make too!! I will NEVER buy the jar again. Thanks for the great recipe. I forwarded it to both my daughters too!

  15. Christy says:

How many servings is one recipe?

  16. Do you use fresh Parmesan or the one in the can?

  17. Deborah Baker-Anastos says:

    What is the Italian seasoning?

  18. Would like to see more pictures of the sauce making process. Looks great.

  19. If you make a double batch and put in refrig. How will it last? When you reheat the sauce will stay smooth?

  20. I followed the recipe closely and all I can think is, it tastes like cream cheese. Won’t ever put cream cheese in Alfredo again. Marscapone cheese Might be a better choice if you want an extra-creamy sauce.

    • Deborah R Williams says:

Marscapone is a sweet cheese, so if you like that flavor you can try it. By adding all the other cheese and spices it should take care of the cream cheese flavor.

  21. This was the best alfredo sauce I ever made or ate! I have been cooking a lot for many many years, this was very easy to make. It was full of flavor! I made it with grilled chicken and broccoli. I will never order it out again!!!

  22. I made this recipe to the T and I have a very picky family. We all loved it! My husband said he would eat it again ad long ad I made it exactly the same. It wad sinfully rich and better then Olive Garden!!! Thanks for a great recipe!!!!

  23. Thank you for this recipe, my family loves it!

  24. I cant believe how easy and oh so delicious this is. I usually just shake in spices, but this time I did exactly as the recipe said. Oh wow…so good..

I will never buy jar alfredo again.

  25. Oh yeah, great stuff I halted the ingrediates for two people, only change was 1/4 tsp of nutmeg. Made it twice and it’s off the charts. Very rich.

  26. Berenac says:

This is the most awesome Alfredo sauce that I have ever had or made. I followed the recipe and it was perfect. I am making lobster ravioli for a baby shower and needed a good Alfredo sauce. I did a trial run this weekend for my family to make sure it would work with the lobster ravioli and they LOVED it! The recipe is super easy and Delish!!

  27. Kietisha Booker says:

Whipping cream, is that like whip cream? Like cool whip ?

    • Heavy whipping cream is what you would use to whip cream. It is in a container by the milk. 🙂

      • Susan Mueller says:

Yes, it’s in the dairy section, by the milk. It comes in a pint container, which is the amount the recipe calls for,

  28. Just made it ,and it tastes wonderful. Beats every Alfredo sauce I ever bought from the grocery store by far. Very easy to make , tastes delicious and I might even have enough to refrigerate for tomorrow. I also used a bit more Parmesan,, just because we are big cheese lovers. This is highly recommended recipe,,and look no further. Simply delicious.

  29. Yum! I mixed some homemade pesto into this sauce instead of the Italian seasoning (we need to cut the salt) WOW you have to try it, the basil and garlic compliments it. We served mixed with grilled chicken, cherry tomatoes and lightly cooked our zoodles right in the sauce so they soaked up that flavor.. the kids devoured it, so no lunch leftovers for me and they don’t even like zucchini! Thanks for a delcious recipe!

  30. Most wonderful Alfredo Sauce I’ve had! Very easy to make. Guests raved about it ~ a little sad there were no leftovers!

  31. I ran across this recipe and made it this evening as I had everything on hand. I did not deviate one bit. It was AMAZINGLY DELICIOUS!! I will never, ever buy a jar of Alfredo sauce again. And I think this put most restaurant sauces to shame!!
    My family thanks you!

  32. I just made this Alfredo sauce and it was the best Alfredo sauce I’ve ever tasted and very easy to make. The only ingredient I didn’t use was garlic powder because I didn’t have any on hand so I just added a little extra of finely minced garlic and it came out perfect! Thanks for this recipe, it will be the only Alfredo recipe I ever make again.

  33. tanya webster says:

cooking cream or whipping cream? whipping cream that use for cake can pie topppings?
or cooking cream used for sauces on meats and pastas etc?

  34. Jennifer says:

I always made my Alfredo sauce but never added the cream cheese to it. I did it and it was so good. I also added sliced mushrooms to add a little chunk and boy was it delicious! 😍 Thank you for showing me a different way.

  35. I understand that 16 fluid ounces makes 1 pint in the US. Here in England it’s 20 fluid ounces to a pint. I love your recipes and think it might be a good idea to list the pint in fluid ounces or the recipe would turn out wrong if we used the English measurements. Many thanks and keep on sending us your wonderful recipes.

  36. Susan Mueller says:

I could not believe how delicious this sauce was!! I used it in a casserole with linguini, cut-up chicken, broccoli, bacon and mushrooms. I would hold it up against any Alfredo dish I’ve had in a restaurant!! A definite repeat!!

  37. Brittany says:

How would this work if I used half and half instead of heavy whipping cream?

  38. Katherine Hinds says:

Looking forward to making this! I was just diagnosed with Celiac Disease so I can no longer order in restaurants. I can only have use rice pasta but at least I can still have Chicken with Alfredo sauce at home now, thanks!

  39. I would love to make this but I don’t use the heavy cream and don’t even know what to buy. Maybe u can advise me.

    • Half and half will work, also milk will work. It just won’t be as creamy and thick. You may have to use a roux to help thicken it up.

  40. What is sprinkled on top after tossed with the pasta. Is that parsley?

  41. OMG! This sauce is Gluten Free!! No flour thickener! Just pour it over my gluten free pasta and… heaven. You need to post this on gluten free sites and share it on Explore Cuisine (gluten free and amazing pasta.) Thank you!

  42. Can it be stored in the Refrigerator or Freezer for another Day?

  43. That is my sauce exactly! And I get rave reviews too!

  44. I made the sauce for dinner tonight. I doubled the recipe and used fresh garlic and fresh oregano instead of Italian seasoning, it was truly amazing. I also splurged to use fresh grated Parmesan ……yummy. Well worth it. I wasn’t sure the original recipe amount would feed my family of six, but after doubling it, I have some extra sauce for another meal. Thank you for this delicious recipe.

  45. Richard Troje says:

It’s not the best ever! I have made better before! It’s good but just not a fan of using cream cheese! It really makes it to powerful! I give it 3 stars! I tried to click on the three stars but it automatically selected 5 stars!

  46. Has anyone put this in a crockpot for a crowd? Wondering if it would get too thick?

  47. I would add a teaspoon of lemon juice to the recipe.

  48. What exactly is Italian seasoning

    • you can purchase this in any supermarket. it has oregano, basil, pepper marjoram etc. lots of italian spices. easier to buy than to make.

  49. Lovely

  50. Adrienne Benson says:

I read in a comment somewhere that this yields approx. 2 cups of sauce. If I were to use a 16oz box of pasta, is this sufficient? Or should I plan on doubling the recipe? My family tends to like things a little saucier rather than drier, if that helps at all..

  51. Lollie Dot Com says:

How many servings is that and how many calories per serving?

  52. Lisa Smith says:

We just made this tonight – wonderful! But now I need bigger pants – ha!

  53. Anne Cooling says:

I am serving this recipe for company this Sunday. There will be 15 of us, including some big eaters…young men. How many people does 2 cups serve on average? I am going to add chicken to the sauce and pasta as well. Thanks! It looks delicious.

  54. Made this tonight for the first time and viola. I wish I could post a picture. Amazing. I will make it fresh from now on. I served it with blackened chicken breast pieces over fettuccine. AMAZING… Thank you for this recipe. No more jars for me. Although the whipping cream is rather expensive. I’ll deal with it.

  55. I LOVE cheese could I use random cheese with this recipe? When I start the sauce or after ?

  56. Going to try this fabulous sounding sauce tonight for friends – hope u see this message!! How much pasta does one recipe of sauce work well with?

  57. do you have a recipe for the roll-ups?

  58. I’ll be honest, this was not the BEST Alfredo sauce, too thick. I’d probably cut the cream cheese in half, and the Italian seasoning and would add a LOT more black pepper. Or just nix the cream cheese altogether.

  59. Made this following the recipe exactly for my 8 year olds birthday! Ended up with a watery mess. Would not even coat the noodles. More like alfredo soup, we had to order out.

    • I am sorry it didn’t turn out. I think this is the first comment that didn’t rave about the recipe. I am not sure what went wrong. This recipe is actually pretty thick and should have coated the noodles perfectly.

  60. Oh my! This seriously is the best ever! My husband and I have tried and failed so many Alfredo recipes. I am so happy I found this one, we have made this recipe 4 times in the last month. I guess it’s safe to say we’ll probably have this every week!

  61. I made this last night. My husband’s favorite pasta dish to order at a Restraunt, he loved it ! I had some extra sauce so put it in a jar and. Popped it in the frigde.
My question is how long will it keep?

  62. I love Alfredo sauces and was doubtful that this would be ‘the best’ but wow, didn’t disappoint! Definately will not buy Alfredo sauce again!!

  63. Putting some shrimp and blackened season for a super tasty meal!

  64. This was absolutely the best Alfredo EVER! Thanks so much!

  65. So I made this tonight and it was amazing! My hubby and I loved it and took some to my parents and they loved it too! Never using the jars of Alfredo again!

  66. Tried to make this tonight for dinner and all was going well till I put the parm cheese in and then it broke. I was not very happy. What went wrong ? I followed the instructions to the letter.

  67. Obviously I am in the minority, but I just did not like the addition of cream cheese in this recipe.

  68. Can I use cooking cream instead of heavy cream? I know it won’t be as creamy as it is in the recipe, but will that do?

  69. Elizabeth says:

How many serving does this sauce make?

  70. Elizabeth says:

How many servings does it make?

  71. Brittany Hart says:

I just made this sauce. Used a pound of angel hair pasta, a pound of little scallops, and a cup of peas. AMAZING! Thanks for the recipe.

  72. This was the best alfredo I’ve ever had! It’s my new go-to recipe when I have a craving for alfredo sauce.

  73. This was delicious! So easy, and I chopped up a little leftover bacon, that made it a meal!
We made homemade fettuccine noodles. It was fantastic.

  74. I was iffy about making this because I’ve tried making Alfredo sauce one other time with cream cheese and it turned out gross, but I’m glad I did. I could put this in a cup and drink it. Sooo good.

  75. Do you use salted or unsalted butter?

  76. I made it and it was AMAZINGGGG!!!! MY KIDS LOVED IT! thanks so much!

  77. So basically this is the best homemade Alfredo I have ever eaten!!! I made this for dinner tonight and it was delicious!!

  78. Just made this for dinner. I used freshly grated parmesan cheese and sauté mushrooms. Hands down one of the best alfredo sauces I have had. Fiancé liked it so much he as eating it by the spoon fulls out of the pan. Served this over noodles and chicken.

  79. Thanks so much for sharing, my twin sister is very picky and hates any sauces on her pasta, and being Italian this drives my mom bonkers! My mom made this the other night and my sister LOVED it and so did everyone else! We didn’t have the creamcheese but it was still so yummy. My only complaint is that we didn’t have enough for everyone, next time we are going to triple the ingredients for our family of six to enough fully!! Thanks again.

  80. Katherine says:

I made it tonight it was by far the best Alfredo suace I’ve ever had thanks for the share!!!

  81. How many serving is the sauce for?

  82. I just made this tonight and I have to say the best Alfredo sauce recipe I’ve tried. This will definitely be my go to for a quick and easy dinner. Thank you so much haha

  83. I made this a few weeks ago. My husband wasn’t home from work yet, so i kept it simmering and it eventually separated (the butter and cream) i guess from cooking so long. I tasted it before it did though it was delicious. I want to make sure if i make leftovers for his lunch the next day will it do that if he heats it in the microwave?

  84. Randall E Clark says:

About how much pasta would that amount of sauce cover? The recipe doesn’t say, unless I missed something.

  85. how about using 1/2 and 1/2 as opposed to heavy cream? yes?

  86. I was leery about the raw garlic, so I cooked it with the shrimp (*I have a picky husband and toddler that don’t like garlic as much as I do). This recipe was easy & awesome! I thought that it tasted better than any alfredo sauce that I’ve eaten in a restaurant or out of a jar. Can’t wait to try your other recipes now. Thank you!

  87. Hi! I will be making a chicken alfredo pasta for next week’s family dinner. I would just like to ask if how many servings does this make? Will this be enough for 8-10 servings? I don’t wanna fall short on the sauce. This will be my first time making chicken alfredo by the way, and I badly wanted to try this for the sauce because it seams very delicious! Thanks anyway 🙂

  88. Oh. My. Gosh. I made this recipe (exactly) for my daughter to take to a potluck dinner date and almost wouldn’t let her leave with it. The best I’ve ever tasted–bar none. Now, if only I could replicate the taste in a low-fat version….

  89. This homemade Alfredo recipe is by far the best I’ve tried to date. It was quick, easy, and far better than any plate of Alfredo I could have gone to Olive Garden and purchased! Thanks so much for sharing this!

  90. By far the best Alfredo sauce I’ve had in a while. I appreciate the fact that I didn’t need to tweak this recipe at all. Far better than any $16 plate that I’ve purchased from Olive Garden in the past. Definitely a winner!

  91. Hi, will it be good if you skip the parmesan and add another cheese instead?

  92. How much does this make ? I am trying to make for a party but I am unsure of the amount that it makes … does anyone know in ounces / cups

  93. This recipe is legit… No other way to say it… I have tried several variations of Alfredo sauces and this one is now the family favorite… Thank you for sharing! Only thing I changed was to simmer the sauce longer to thicken it up just a bit more but this is a winner!

  94. Amanda the cooker says:

I also add garlic salt, oregano leaves, cilantro, cayenne pepper, and black pepper. I substituted the garlic power for garlic salt.
These extra seasonings enhanced the flavor a lot and made it taste absolutely delicious 😋. I have never tasted something so yummy! Hope that this helps your cooking :). Ps. the cayenne pepper definelty enhances the flavor without giving your sauce too much spice.

  95. Amanda the cooker says:

I absolutely love this recipe! I added some extra seasonings to give it that enhanced flavor. Including: garlic salt (substitute for garlic power), cayenne pepper, black pepper, oregano leaves and cilantro. I hope these seasonings help a bit. It truly enhances the alfredo sauce recipe. Ps the cayenne pepper really gives the sauce extra flavor without being spicy. Hope this helps:).

  96. I made this last night (cut recipe in half) and I had to take a spatula to the saucepan to get out every last drop for my hubby haha…It was really great! I did have to add about half a cup of milk towards the end to thin it out a bit but that was probably just a personal preference thing. Like others have said, I’ll never go back to the jar again 🙂 Thanks for the great recipe!

  97. I found your recipe after I googled “Alfredo sauce”. It seemed a little different with the cream cheese and Italian seasoning. I am so glad I made it, it is delicious! Definitely will be my go to Alfredo sauce from now on! Thank you

  98. This recipe is truly amazing!! I will never use any other recipe or buy alfredo ever again!

  99. I have made this a few times now. This truly is the best alfredo sauce ever!! I also, will never buy or use any other recipe ever again! Every time I make it, my family raves about it and say they could never find this in any restaurant (chicken bacon garlic alfredo roll ups). We renamed it chicken bacon alfredo wraps. I love toasting bagels and dipping in the sauce! This is so very very yummy!! Thank you so MUCH!

  100. My daughter requested homemade alfredo for her 5th birthday. The last recipe I used was hit or miss. So I thought I’d try a new one. Not only is this SUPER easy but it is delicious. My 3 yr old LOVED it and he hates alfredo sauce. The birthday girl said “mommy thank you so much for making this for my birthday dinner it’s the best you’ve ever made!”

  101. Really enjoyed this recipe – I couldn’t taste any cream cheese, so only added to the flavor. I did not have fresh Parmesan cheese, so used Romano – worked perfectly!! Mixed with Penne Pasta, grilled chicken and broccoli…….. fabulous! Thank you for sharing!

  102. Xlnt recipe. Made it with wild dried mushrooms. 1/2&1/2 works well instead of cream. I’m Italo/American and always use fresh grated cheese. Mama didn’t like the other stuff. Easy to tweak recipe with multiple uses. TnxTnx

  103. Very delicious, the whole family loved it!

  104. simple to put together and tasty
I made a couple of modifications
1oz cave aged white cheddar cheese
    left out black pepper

  105. Tina Meyer says:

I have to ask – why on earth is Olive Garden now the gold standard for pasta sauce?! I’m trying this tonight, btw. Looks delicious.

    • Olive Garden is sub par but dang their alfredo is good!! lol You will love this alfredo. It is better than olive garden.

  106. pat underburger says:

So delicious & easy! I bought all ingredients, but didn’t make right away, so my parmesean cheese went bad. I substituted a chedder blend I had in the fridge and it turned out great! Served with grilled chicken & onions over fettuccine. No more canned for me!

    • Glad to know that it still was delicious with a cheddar cheese substitute! And yes. We will never buy canned again!

  107. Will this keep in a crockpot

  108. I made it its quick and easy to make and it’s yummy

  109. Sooo Good!!

  110. HO

Amazing and so simple to make. This recipe has been printed and added to my box. Great sauce!!!!

  111. I tried this recipe…very tasty. The only problem that I had was that it separated on me. Mostly my fault, I have a new stove and am getting used to it. It was very simple the only thing that I will do next time is have my spices ready to just drop in as to monitor the sauce as it warms. Perfect for the two of us and leaves some for leftovers.

    Thank you for the recipe.

  112. Lehua Cunha says:

I just made this for dinner minus the salt and pepper and my family LOVED it ! My husband said this was the best alfredo he had ever had. Because it was my sister in laws birthday dinner we did as she asked and put chicken and bacon on it. Your recipe is amazing, thank you for sharing!

  113. Delicious! Thanks for sharing this extraordinary recipe. My family loved it!

  114. Wow!!! This is the best Alfredo recipe ever!!! I just made this and it was better than anything I’ve ever had in a restaurant. Thank you so much for sharing. Keeping this one in my repertoire for sure.

  115. Jessica Meyer says:

What is the best way to reheat this so that the butter doesnt separate out?

  116. This is absolutely delicious! Me and my husband love this.

  117. Have you tried adding tomato sauce to make it a blush sauce? Just curious! Made the sauce and thought it could be an interesting addition.

  118. We tried this tonight, and it was a HUGE hit! The flavor was really good and not bland at all. Thank you!

  119. Made this last night. Delicious! We added spinach and I doubled the recipe I’ll add more garlic next time because we are garlic freaks!

  120. This recipe was amazing, entire family loved it!!! So creamy and amazing

  121. OMG… You have given me the absolute BEST recipe for Alfredo sauce. My kids now beg me to make this at least once a week. I used to try other homemade Alfredo sauce recipes but NEVER EVER again!!! I’ve tried your Creamy Garlic Lemon Chicken recipe and my two daughters require it be cooked in the weekly rotation. (they are not fans of chicken so this says A LOT) Thank you so much!!!

  122. Made this for the first time tonight- delicious! Thank you for sharing it 😊. Perfect for a cold, snowy New England evening.

I didn’t use cream cheese, but added more whipping cream. ..then once that bubbled a few minutes and started to thicken, I added more cheese (stirred constantly). I gotta say, this came out just as good as Red Robin’s when they still had it on their menu. 2 thumbs up…

  124. Thanks so much for this recipe! Best home made alfredo sauce to date!

  125. really yummy, and definitely beats making alfredo with a roux base. I used half n half instead of heavy cream and used less of it to up the cheese to liquid ratio. Also skipped the italian seasoning and used parsley in it’s place, added a little paprika and freshly grated parmesan and romano. I’m not a fan of italian food, but I am a fan of all cheese and this hit the spot. Thanks!

  126. Thomasa Coleman says:

Made this sauce but substituted home made half & half for the heavy whipping cream. It was delicious.

  127. Okay now I want the bread sticks to dip in it. 🙂 Thank you for this.

  128. Made this last night and it was so easy and the best alfredo ever!!

  129. How well does this recipe double? Or do I need to cook it in batches?

  130. Thank you for sharing….this recipe is fabulous!

  131. Sounded great, but a little too fatty (I love healthy fats, but the proportion in this recipe just seemed too high in combo with the butter, which I though would end up being hard to digest)…so I just used 3/4 cup heavy cream and substituted milk for the rest of the cream. Also used a little less butter than the recipe.

Smelled wonderful with all the spices, and tasted great! Nice and simple, too, so much faster than the white sauce I often make for pasta dishes. Thanks!

  132. Kristin C. says:

This truly is the best homemade alfredo sauce ever! It is addicting and better than most of the restaurants where I have ordered this dish. Thank you for sharing this absolutely scrumptious alfredo recipe! No canned alfredo will ever match up to this recipe. Five Stars. A++. Excellent!!!!!!

  133. Just made this tonight and it was excellent! This one goes in the keep & repeat fîle for sure!

  134. Just made this. It was the best I’ve ever had

  135. monica prater says:

I’m trying to get my stuffed shells reaready for tomorrow… should I wait til morning to make the sauce or is it okay to make it and refridgerate it on top of my shells? I don’t want it to look creepy tomorrow

  136. I have enjoyed your recipes for some time now. I convert them to gluten free versions and preserve the original taste and texture. This looks really good! will this sauce cover a 1 pound bag of pasta or should I double the recipe?

  138. Made this tonight!!!! Didnt have a whole pint of heavy cream so substituted half milk and half plain greek yogurt turned out amazing. THANK YOU:):):) NO MORE JAR SAUCE HERE.

  139. This recipe recipe came out amazing . I used grilled chicken and shrimp and sautéed onion and minced garlic before adding the heavy whipping cream ! I will be using again, thanks !

  140. I LOVED this recipe. I added shrimp to the sauce before serving and used spaghetti squash for noodles as I’m watching my carbs. It was amazing! Will make again!

  141. This alfredo sauce was amazing! It probably made enough to have covered a whole box (16oz) of noodles but I left some noodles out because my son likes to eat them plain. Will definitely make again!

I followed the recipe but I used all organic ingredients and added a little chopped italian parsley and oooooooooooh my goodness. So good! Yum yum yum! I’ll never eat alfredo from a jar again.

  143. Thank you so much for this fantastic recipe….i made it last night adding chunks of chicken, spinach and muchrooms. Since its only 2 of us i didn’t use the entire box of pasta which left it plenty saucy which is how I like it. Not ashamed to admit, I also had plenty of spoonfuls! Definitely in the “what’s for dinner” rotation. Can’t wait to try some of your other recipes.

  144. I just made this for the first time tonight. I never want to use any other alfredo sauce. This sauce is BRILLIANT! I have never tasted anything as good. I got double thumbs up at the table. Thank you for sharing❣️

  145. This alfredo sauce is amazing! It is definitely a new family favorite. I’ve tried many different recipes but this one by far outweighs any that I’ve ever made. Thank you!!!!!!

    • We made it tonight and had it over pasta and it is AMAZING!! We are reminded every time how good it is. I am glad you loved it too!

  146. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!! Just made it and had to let you know how great this recipe is!! I added broccoli and chicken and everyone loves it!!! Delicious !!!

  147. I’m going to omit the cream cheese next time. WAY TOO THICK! Or maybe 1tbsp. Added all the pasta and had throw it out. Good recipe otherwise.

  148. this is a good recipe, certainly–I’ve been using it for over 20 years, having found it in a Taste of Home magazine in the mid-1990’s–and I use it all the time. Can’t stand the commercially-made junk on the market, and homemade sauce of any kind is always better.

OMG, that was the BEST alfredo sauce I have EVER had. My daughter loved it so much that not only did she not touch her garlic bread until the very end, but she used the garlic bread to clean off her plate and her fork. It was truly awesome. Thank you for sharing the recipe.

I will NEVER buy jar alfredo again.

    • That is so good to hear! I am glad everyone loved it! Great job! It always feels good when the kiddos eat the food:)! Thanks for sharing! Xo

How many people does it feed?

    • Depending on what you use the Alfredo sauce on or for it usually feeds around 8-10 people. I have a few recipes that go along with this Alfredo sauce and they all serve about 8 people. Hope that helps!! It is the BEST Alfredo sauce!! My kids love it!
