This Chicken Alfredo Dip is out of this world! It’s creamy, cheesy, loaded with chicken and made from scratch! Perfect as an appetizer or a casual lunch or dinner.

Hello again! It’s Ashley here from The Recipe Rebel and I have a confession for you: I’m not into dips.

I feel like people might think that’s strange, because who doesn’t love all things creamy and cheesy and excuses to eat chips for dinner?!?

The thing is, I’m not really into sour cream, or mayo, or dressings and those are the things that normally make up a hot dip (or even a cold dip, for that matter). So with this Chicken Alfredo Dip I stuck with a cream cheese and Alfredo sauce (homemade!) base, loaded it with extra cheese and chicken, topped it with cheese (obviously), and baked until totally gooey and irresistible.

A piece of sliced bread been dipped into chicken Alfredo dip.

Paired with some crusty bread or crackers, and some veggies (broccoli would be great with this!), you can really make it a meal in one! It’s perfect for game day or and hearty enough for when you’re entertaining and just want to make a whole meal out of appetizers (because who doesn’t love finger food for dinner?!).

You could skip the homemade Alfredo sauce and sub in store bought if you are really in a time crunch, but I really recommend taking the extra 10 minutes to make it from scratch. The flavor is out of this world, and you can add more or less cheese or seasonings to suit your tastes as it’s cooking. You just can’t beat it!

Serve this up at your next party or gathering and I can guarantee it will be a hit! But then again, once you try it you may not want to share 😉

  1. Recipe looks delicious and started to make it but it does not say how much alfredo sauce to use unless I completely missed it! I’m going to wing it but making it for a party so I how my guesses are right lol. Please let me know how much so I get it right next time thanks

    1. The Alfredo sauce is the milk, broth, and cheese mixture that gets melted together…It’s not a separate ingredient.

  2. A good friend and I both make one supper a week that is all appetizers. She made this dip this past week and sent me the link, along with high praise, including many exclamation marks, hehe. I can’t wait to try it!

    1. Amanda-

Sorry for delay in responding to your question! Yes. In baking the cheese should thicken up especially as it cools.

Thanks and hope it worked for you. I know it is one of my favorites!

  3. We made this with my boyfriend during the superbowl night but I cannot wait to make it again. It was just YUMMY ???

  4. I took this to a potluck at work. OMG! This was fabulous. The only complaint was that I didn’t double the amount. The alfredo sauce was full of flavor.

  5. I want to make this for like 10 people. Do you think i can just Double everything and it would still be amazing? Maybe Triple? thanks for the help!

    1. You are making the alfredo with the ingredients. You don’t add any alfredo sauce to it. Hope that makes sense for you! It is a delicious dip and great for game night! XOXO

  6. I made this dip for a staff lunch potluck and it was a HUGE hit!! It was rich and creamy and downright delicious. I will definitely make this again!

  7. Hi, I am planning to use this dip as a filling for topping on French bread as a party appetizer for 50 people. Do you have any idea how many spoonfuls of dip the regular recipe makes?

  8. Made this recipie for the first time for my family of 16 Thanksgiving feast yesterday and it was a HUGE hit. It was literally gone from the moment they all tasted it, I almost didnt get to have some lol. I altered it only slightly as we were having chicken for dinner so I didnt add chicken to the recipie. I used skim milk instead of 1% and just mixed the cream cheese straight into the pan versus a separate bowl. This dish is a definite make again!!

  9. Made this with lactose free cream cheese and milk. Increased garlic to a Tablespoon (we love garlic). Absolutely fantastic!!! Bought more chicken to do this again this weekend, absolutely fabulous with apples as dippers! It’s so good though, just about any dipper is good with this recipe!

  10. Think almond Flour would be a good substitute for the flour? Heavy cream for the milk? Keto girl here lol

  11. 5 stars
Deeeelicious! Tasty with corn chips too, but then I would halve the salt content in the dip. I found it easier to slice the cream cheese and add to the dip mixture on the stove, stir and it will slowly melt in. We doubled the chicken amount too, but that’s personal preference. Thank you for sharing this great recipe!

  12. Can this be made a day before and then baked? I am going to a friend’s cabin that may not have all the things I need to make it such as a hand mixer.

    1. Yes, you will want to drain the chicken before adding it to the Alfredo dip. It is best to even use rotisserie chicken or cooked chicken over the canned chicken though.

  13. 5 stars
Made this yesterday, and it’s delicious!! I made it in the morning and then popped it in the oven right before the party – perfect!!

  14. Awesome recipe! I used the almond flour and heavy cream in place of milk and flour! Definitely sharing this recipe with my sisters! Thanks so much!!!
