Korean Ground Beef and Rice Bowls
This right here is my boy’s favorite weeknight meal. They beg me to make it every week. Since we have been so busy with Lacrosse, we have been having it every week. It requires minimal ingredients and little effort to make.
With minimal ingredients and big flavor, my kids devour it every time. The ground beef browns in minutes but still brings that classic Korean taste with brown sugar, soy sauce, sesame oil, and ginger. I always have these simple ingredients on hand, so all I need is a pound of ground beef to make it happen. Serve it over rice, toss in some veggies, and top with sesame seeds and green onions for a quick, delicious dinner you’ll make again and again. The interior of a raw hamburger usually does contain bacteria, and is safest if cooked well done. The USDA sets the minimum safe temperature for ground beef at 160 degrees Fahrenheit.

Loved it, thanks!
This is amazing! Have made it twice so far-made a little extra sauce this time
I make this recipe during the week all the time! It is fast and so delicious. I couldn’t ask for a better weeknight dish.
We LOVE this! I add celery and mushrooms, and a tad more brown sugar, and it’s AMAZING. It’s become my boyfriend’s meal; he says that this dish has the potential to “turns boyfriends into husbands!” Thanks, and I’m looking forward to trying more of your recipes in the future!
Holy Hannah! I added some frozen stir fry veggies and poured it over coconut rice. Amazing! This will definitely be a go to recipe. I did add srichacha, as we like things a bit spicier, but that’s a personal taste; it was awesome without it.
Did you add your frozen veggies while cooking or cook then separate?
I added the veggies right at the end, about five minutes was all they needed
This sounds like a great recipe and can’t wait to try it! I think I’ll be adding a touch of rice wine vinegar and mixing in some chopped water chestnuts for texture. Thanks for the recipe!
We loved! I made extra sauce bc we like a little extra. Next time I’ll cut the sugar in half, it’s pretty sweet. Can’t wait to try on steak!
That is awesome and sounds great! Thank you so much for sharing! XOXO
I did not let the meet brown completely before putting spices in it. I used a bit of kale, a clove or two more of garlic, a bit of maple syrup instead of brown sugar, less soy sauce, and a lot more red pepper flakes… omg it’s to die for!! I think if you wait for the beef to brown it’s going to be soooo over cooked
I’ve made this several times, it is very good, everyone likes it. I can’t eat pepper but no one missed it. I added a little sesame oil and served it over white rice. It’s definitely is a keeper!
I meal prep for work and i’m always making chicken, so i googled some ground beef recipes to spice my lunch times up, and i’m SO glad i found this recipe!! You can always add a bit of sriracha or gochujang to give it a kick!
This was so quick and easy to make! My kids loved it and begged for it to be on the rotation. Thanks for the great recipe!
Omg! This is so good I have made it 3 times now and it’s so yummy!! One of my favorites!
Wow! So quick and easy, and yet it tasted so delicious! Thank you! The only change I made was sautéed onions, set aside, cooked the beef as written and then added back the onions. You’ll see sliced onions often with Korean BBQ beef and Korean cuisine in general (I’m Korean) so it added great, familiar favor to an already fantastic dish.
Love this recipe. Simple and tastes great.
Cannot express properly how delicious this is! So good and super easy. Bachelor friendly for sure. Absolutely delicious.
Made this tonight for my mom and me. I didn’t have sesame oil, so I used blood orange infused olive oil instead. I also added sugar snap peas and sweet onion to the ground beef as it was cooking. Super delicious and not too spicy for my mom!
