Korean Ground Beef and Rice Bowls

Korean Ground Beef and Rice Bowls

This right here is my boys favorite weeknight meal. They beg me to make it every week. Since we have been so busy with Lacrosse we have been having it every week. It requires minimal ingredients and requires little effort to make.

Easy, minimal ingredients, and my kids devour it. This meal became my new BFF.

The ground beef takes only minutes to brown but you still get that delicious Korean flavor in this meal. The brown sugar, soy sauce, sesame oil, and ginger combination is the best.

It helps take the flavor to next level with the simple kitchen ingredients. The best part is that because we love Asian flavors so much I always have these ingredients on hand. All I have to do is buy a pound of ground beef each week.

You guys are going to love this meal just as much as we do! It is so delicious when served over rice and I even like to add some veggies to my bowl to make it a well rounded meal.

Sprinkle with some sesame seeds and freshly chopped green onions and you have about the easiest meal that you will ever make! You will make this again and again!

Can you make this with chicken?

Yes! This is a great chicken flavor as well. Sauté your chicken with all the ingredients. Cook until it is no longer pink.

What is the best rice to use?

  • White rice
  • Brown rice
  • Jasmine rice

This was the first time I attempted to make this recipe. I’ve never tasted beef in this way before. I absolutely love it!! My brother who is a picky eater loved it as well!! Thank you for this recipe ❤️

Made this tonight for my family of 4.
Rice is nice and filling, made jasmine rice in my instant pot while giving the beef.
My son 15 yr old looked at his plate and said “rice and beef, that’s it?” he then put a fork in his mouth rolled his eyes and said “Are you kidding me? This is awesome!”
    I’ll be using this frequently!
Thanks for the quick and easy recipe.

  3. I have made this twice now and it’s a hit! Everyone loved it! I had to triple it since I have teenagers and it still turned out amazing! Thanks for sharing the recipe!

I tried this but I substituted the beef for turkey. It was delicious! My son is very picky and he had seconds. So did I! Thank you!

  5. This has become one of my go-to meals. Quick and delicious works every time! To boost the vegetables I’ve added matchstick carrots which are tasty and look good in the dish too. Thank you for a great recipe!

I was so pleasantly shocked how good this tasted considering how easy it was to prepare. Next time I’ll add brocoli and put less red pepper because my wife and younger son aren’t into spicy food.

We love this recipe. Just the right amount of spiciness. I follow the recipe exactly but add a bag of coleslaw mix the last two minutes of cooking. We serve over rice and I make a bag of Asian medley vegetables on the side. So easy and everyone loves it. Thanks for sharing.

I needed a quick dinner tonight and since I always have one lb packs of pre-browned ground beef in the freezer, this one fit the bill. After adding the sauce it looked a little dry so I made another batch of the sauce. It was perfect. Everyone loved it. Kept the red pepper out of the second batch because one of my teens is not a fan of spicy butshe gave me the thumbs up for adding it next time (and I’ve been told there will be a next time very soon). Served it with steamed sugar snaps. Hubby would like me to try it with cut flank steak next time for more ‘chew-ability’ but I’m a fan for this version due to speed of preparation.

  11. I made this for dinner tonight. It was so easy and delicious. My picky husband loved it. I will definitely be making this again and again! Thank you Alyssa.

I just made this tonight and was very flavorful! I added a tiny bit of salt and tripled the recipe so we can have enough left overs. I also cooked with ground Turkey and broccoli on top. I definitely will be making it again and hopefully having enough to freeze. Next time, I might add other veggies. I wasn’t sure if we’d have enough sauce but it came out perfect.

  13. i doubled up on the seasoning and soya sauce but not on the sugar and it was super delicious! would definitely recommend this recipe but yeah, double up or it shall be quite bland !
