Korean Ground Beef and Rice Bowls

Korean Ground Beef and Rice Bowls

This right here is my boys favorite weeknight meal. They beg me to make it every week. Since we have been so busy with Lacrosse we have been having it every week. It requires minimal ingredients and requires little effort to make.

Easy, minimal ingredients, and my kids devour it. This meal became my new BFF.

The ground beef takes only minutes to brown but you still get that delicious Korean flavor in this meal. The brown sugar, soy sauce, sesame oil, and ginger combination is the best.

It helps take the flavor to next level with the simple kitchen ingredients. The best part is that because we love Asian flavors so much I always have these ingredients on hand. All I have to do is buy a pound of ground beef each week.

You guys are going to love this meal just as much as we do! It is so delicious when served over rice and I even like to add some veggies to my bowl to make it a well rounded meal.

Sprinkle with some sesame seeds and freshly chopped green onions and you have about the easiest meal that you will ever make! You will make this again and again!

Sooo tasty ! Inexpensive to make, really quick, delicious and filling. I didn’t have sesame seeds so I topped with La Choy rice noodles and it was great. Next time I may add sliced red peppers. It’s a winner !

Good base, but as an end recipe it’s on the bland side and lacking punch. Had to add more garlic (powder), more pepper (Gochugaru) and Gochujan, then it came alive. Can add touch of bulgogi sauce as well, makes it even more mouth-watering.

This recipe was delicious! We also added broccoli, bok choy, zucchini, and shiitake mushrooms, and garnished with green onion and slivered almonds. We served it atop jasmine rice. The sauce is absolutely wonderful. I was worried it would be too sweet, but the rice and fresh green onion on top balanced the dish beautifully. Absolutely delicious! We will definitely keep this in regular rotation!

This is so quick and easy and packed with flavor. It’s so yummy!!! I’ve made it twice already. I did add some frozen broccoli and extra chili flakes to it tonight just cause I love spicy food. Absolutely delicious!

So easy and SO yummy! I was in a pinch when I found this recipe and had dinner on the table 20 min later that everyone loved. Will probably add some spices and different fresh veggies next time – love how versatile this can be!

I make this at least once a month, its so easy and so good! My brother just moved out of town for college and really never cooked before in his life makes this once a week. He likes it spicy so he adds in garlic paste and sriracha.

You can’t beat the ease of the recipe. I add a little onion to the meat mixture and serve with sautéed garlic broccoli. Kids and adults love alike.

  8. Just made this for dinner tonight after a search for what to make with ground beef! I made the recipe as is but put the topping on iceberg lettuce leaves. My family went bonkers for it! Thanks so much for a great recipe to add to my box!

I love this recipe! It is total comfort food, thank you for sharing. I have added vegetables to the meat mixture and it is delicious that way too!

  10. Make this all the time with a shitload of Steamed broccoli and hemp Seeds instead of sesame just for extra
    Protein. Awesome recipe

Really nice dish! Flavor is very well-balanced. If you want it a bit less sweet, you could go with 2/3 to 3/4 of the sugar. I used regular soy sauce (instead of low-sodium) and it came out great. Also be sure to use asian sesame oil which is made from toasted sesame seeds and has a darker color. If you use raw sesame oil from a health food store, it won’t taste right (made that mistake once many years ago).
