Olive Bread

Warm, cheesy bread with olives is pretty much my love language. My weakness is carbs so you can totally plan on them to happen quite often at our house. This bread makes a great appetizer that will be devoured within minutes. I love how fast it comes together and I know that it will be loved by your family as well!

How do you make Cheesy Olive Bread?

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Place the sliced bread cut sides up on a large cookie sheet.
  • In a medium sized bowl, add olives, butter, ,mayonnaise, cheese and green onions. Mix until all incorporated.
  • Spread evenly on each sides of the bread. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until cheese is melted and bubbly.Steps to make cheesy olive bread.

What types of olives are best for this Cheesy Olive bread?

  • Black Olives- Salty and Oily and softer than green olives.
  • Stuffed Pimento Green Olives- sweet pimento peppers get stuffed into green olives. It helps to balance out the salty. flavor.
  • Kalamata- Distinctive fruity, almost wine-like flavor with a distinct almond shape.
  • Cerignola-  An olive from Italy that is mild in flavor.
  • Mission-  An olive from California that is black oil cured and are mild in flavor.
  • Picoline-  Crisp green olives that have a nutty taste with a slight undertone of anise.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 loaf French Bread sliced in half
  • 8 ounces Black Olives sliced
  • 8 ounces Pimento Stuffed Green Olives
  • 1/2 cup butter softened
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 cups monterey jack cheese shredded
  • 2 green onions sliced

Instructions

  2. Your commentary mentions tomatoes, but the recipe doesn’t include any. Should there be tomatoes included?
