Fajita Seasoning Ingredients

- To Thicken Up: Add 1โ2 tsp of cornstarch to your spice mix. Stir it in first so it wonโt clump when it hits the meat.
How to Make Fajita Seasoning
Whether you’re making up sizzling fajitas or looking to spice up tacos, grilled veggies, or even scrambled eggs. This homemade fajita seasoning has you covered. Here’s how to make it!
- First, add all ingredients: In a small bowl, combine the chili powder, paprika, cumin, garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, salt, sugar, and cayenne pepper.
- Then, mix well: Use a small whisk or spoon to blend everything together. Use about 2 tablespoons of fajita seasoning per pound of meat. Or use 2ยฝ to 3 tablespoons to match one store bought fajita seasoning packet
What is The Different Between Taco & Fajita Mix
- Taco vs. Fajita Spice: Taco seasoning has more heat and bold herbs. Fajita seasoning leans more on cumin. For that fresh pop you get from the store, add a squeeze of lime on top right before you serve.

Delicious! I followed the recipe except I did not add any cayenne pepper. I will be using this recipe for my fajitas from now on. Thanks for the recipe.
How much water
Hi John, this recipe is for a dry spice mix, so you wouldn’t want to add water. I hope this helps!
Great flavor! A little spicy with the teensiest bit of sweetness. Wonโt ever buy another fajita seasoning packet
I tried this recipe and it was excellent. So easy and available in my pantry since my son and I cook frequently. I didn’t know what to make and I only had a few ingredients to work with before my next grocery trip. I didn’t want to spend money on take out. I didn’t feel like driving to the store. In my fridge, I had ground beef, one bell pepper, potatoes, and one onion left. I was able to add this fajita (2 tbsp) recipe to my 4 items. It tasted fabulous. Dinner made easy for busy moms like me. Thank you for sharing this recipe!!
Thank you for the recipe!
I bought everything except Fajita seasoning!! I found this recipe and used it. I couldn’t find my oregano so I used an Italian mixed herbs. Smoked paprika, and 1/2 teaspoon smoked chipotle instead of cayenne pepper (food allergy). Best Fajita seasoning ever!!!!! Hands down!!!! I will never buy store bought Fajita seasoning again!!!! Thank You!!!! ???
So happy you liked it! Once you try making homemade seasonings, you’ll never go back. ?
This is by far the best fajita seasoning I have ever tasted. I will no longer purchase it in a package. The only change I made was cut back on the amount of salt to half and used monk fruit sweetener in place of the sugar. My husband even loved it. I made this with steak, next time will be chicken. YUM ?
Next time I will try the full amount of salt because I think I cut it back a little too much, either way this was so flavorful and delicious.
Love this seasoning recipe. Used it for my family and everyone loved it! So easy to make and great flavor.
I have not used your recipe for Fajitas yet, but have bought all the spices, can’t wait to try it Love Fajitas..
I have used this twice now once to make fajitas and once to make some carne sade burritos with my Spanish rice. It was a hit! Thank you for the delicious fajita seasoning mix, hands down the best. I have added it to my recipe box! ?
