    This recipe was great, but I made several additions. I added 3 big cloves of garlic with the onion, and added an extra teaspoon of oregano and 3 bay leaves to the sauce (I removed the bay leaves when I was compiling the dish). I also added a layer of spinach on top of the cheese layers and added salt and pepper to the Ricotta mixture.

    Oh, I also did not include any sugar. And we thought it was GREAT!

    Question: to save some time, can I use the no boil lasagna noodles and just build it with the uncooked noodles and then bake?

    I really like the recipe. The only thing I would have to add is thay I like to add a couple layers of spinach to the Lasagna for a bit of variety. The only problem I had is finding a place near me that had fresh Parmesan to add to the Ricotta mixture so I had to improvise with some Italiano shredded cheese mixture. I also like adding some Italian Seasoning in the Ricotta mixture.

  5. I make lasagna all the time. I would recommend some finely chopped bell pepper to be cooked with the onion. Also flavor with minced garlic with the onion. For those who like to bring it up a notch? I almost always add some very finely chopped jalapeno. I like my food spicy and it really helps. Its a great substitute for people who find the acidity in bell pepper to strong or annoying.

  6. What kind of Meat is Italiano sausage. Can I use another kind of Meat, I dont Think I Can g’et that Meat here in Denmark?🤔

    1. I only use ground Beef, if you can find ground Italian sausage it calls for mixing it but I just double the ground beef!! ☺️ I also add more tomatoes bc I use no boil/oven ready lasagna noodles. Good luck!

    Hello, I used this recipe yesterday to make lasagna for the first time. I found the lasagna to be rather dry. That’s based on my experiences having eaten lasagna made by others. I followed the recipe and the instructions but there didn’t seem to be enough liquid in the meat mixture. All the liquid was absorbed into the meat. Maybe that is how it is supposed to be. My husband thought it was very good, however. If you do respond I’d appreciate knowing if it is meant to be dry or if I may have done something wrong which caused it to turn out that way.

    I’m making this today. I’m very familiar with making spaghetti and can tell by the ingredients this is going to be really good!

    Great recipe, substituted beef for turkey and used chicken Italian sausages. Also added celery, bell pepper, carrot, and minced garlic. Perfect measurements had some meat sauce leftover that wasn’t used in the dish. I froze it might use it for spaghetti another day💕💕
