5 Minute Million Dollar Dip Recipe
Can I just say how much I love my readers and fans? I hope you know how much I appreciate all of your amazing comments and support in keeping this blog going. I especially love when readers send me messages and recipes that they want me to try. This recipe was sent to me from a reader telling me that I have to try it! With it being only 5 ingredients and taking 5 minutes to make, I couldn’t wait to make it!
This dip has mayonnaise, green onions, cheddar cheese, and bacon bits. If you are looking to substitute the mayonnaise you can use greek yogurt, or even sour cream, but the mayonnaise is a key ingredient in bringing this dip all together. I loved all of the ingredients in this dip and the slivered almonds were my favorite part! They added the perfect crunch to this dip. It is a MUST make for your next watch party or gathering. Everyone won’t be able to get enough of it! You will quickly see why it is called a Million Dollar Dip!
Ingredients for Million Dollar Dip
With just a few simple ingredients you can create some major deliciousness!
- Green Onions: Their mild taste and crunchy texture are perfect in this dip!
- Cheddar Cheese: For the best results, use freshly shredded cheese. Shredded cheese in a bag won’t mix as well with this dip and the flavor isn’t as bright.
- Mayonnaise: Use your favorite brand since this is the base of the entire dip.
- Real Bacon Bits: Pre-cooked bacon works great and adds to the ease of prep for this already easy dip.
- Slivered Almonds: These slivered almonds give the dip a nutty flavor without overwhelming each bite.
How to Make Million Dollar Dip
This dip honestly tastes so good, your friends and family will think it took a lot more effort to put together. Little do they know it only takes 2 quick steps to create!
- Mix Together Ingredients: Add green onions, cheddar cheese, mayonnaise, bacon bits, and slivered almonds to a small bowl. Mix until fully combined.
- Chill and Enjoy: Refrigerate for at least 2 hours. Serve with your favorite crackers.
Million Dollar Dip Quick Tips
Upgrade your dip with just a few quick and easy tips!
- Cheese: Freshly shredded cheddar works best in this recipe. Packaged cheese typically lacks the flavor and texture that fresh cheese has. You can substitute cheddar for aged Gouda or Gruyere.
- Mayonnaise: You can substitute mayo for sour cream or Greek yogurt, but I have found that mayonnaise works best to achieve a perfectly creamy texture.
- Almonds: You can chop your almonds into smaller pieces for bite-sized texture.
- Flavor Additions: Add in garlic, homemade ranch or Italian seasoning for an extra burst of flavor in your dip!
What to Serve With 5 Minute Million Dollar Dip
I love using bigger crackers like Ritz for this dip, but it also tastes amazing with tortilla chips and pretzels! Kettle chips are also a great pairing with their thicker texture and bite. You can make some of my quick and easy air fryer potato chips for a snack match made in heaven!
Storing Million Dollar Dip
Storing dips is just as easy as making them. I love having dips on hand for when I get late night munchies because you can eat them straight out of the fridge! Your dip will stay good for up to 4 days in an airtight container.

A Reader’s Review
Really like this dip, just wondering if it can be frozen?
This dip is best when it’s made fresh! You can refrigerate it for a few days, though after you make it!
I accidentally baked it the second time that I made it. Everyone loved it. They liked it much better then cold. It had such a wonderful burst of flavors when baked. Now it’s expected of me to make this dip for every occasion. 🙂
Ooh that sounds delicious!
I thought the mayo was overpowering the flavor of the dip. I may try with cream cheese.
I know this as Neiman Marcus Dip, identical
I’ve been making it for years, literally the quickest appetizer to pull together for any occasion or to bring to someone’s house at the last minute. I do like the suggested additions though
Made this for a party & nobody liked it, they all thought it was very bland. The recipe was followed exactly as written. Definitely will not be making again.
This sounds wonderful and easy (which I need in my life)!
My question is….. can you substitute the mayo for sour cream? Just the thought of mayo turns my stomach
Thank you in advance for answering
You can try sour cream or greek yogurt! Those are common substitutes for mayo. The taste may be a little bit different but it will still be delicious!
Every time I make this I am asked for the recipe by multiple guests!! It is a sure winner. I do add some garlic powder and some hot sauce to spice it up again and serve with wheat thins! I have also substituted creamed cheese for the mayonnaise. Best Foods /Helms Mayonnaise works best!!
Can the almonds be substituted with walnuts or pecans? I cannot eat almonds, and I really want to try this dip!
I always use pecans and it’s delicious. 🙂
Absolutely one of my go to dips. Sometimes I switch it up. It is wonderful with horseradish. As much as you like.
I’ve made this many of times for my client lunch and learns. They always end up asking for the recipe so I make sure to print off some and leave it next to the dish. I omit the almonds when doing it for a public event and it’s still delicious!
I just made this for the festivities after our Church Christmas play tonight. It is simply marvelous. I did add ranch flavoring and a little onion powder because I was short on green onions.
nice post
My friend spreads a spoonful of this mixture on those little rye breads, she does a full cookie sheet of them, then heat in the oven, maybe broiler, for a wonderful hors-d’oeuvre.
If you really want to take this to the next level, skip the almonds and top it with strawberry preserves! It sounds weird but it’s REALLY good. (I’ve been making something almost just like this recipe for years. It’s always a hit.)
This is actually a million dollar tip .This article is really very interesting and effective.
